Yeah I'll pass on that one (though it did look cool). I'm actually going to start looking at the mods because I'm starting to lose my sense of purpose for lots of sims I run. I like to have fun, but I seem to grow bored quite easily. Even Medieval Dynasty along with train sims just lacks the purpose I'm seeking.
As for ATS, did get the special transport with the bundle for Texas and I stayed awake watching Emmett run it last night (pretty cool feature). Perhaps you may be able to recommend some mods that may help to assist in purpose/survival of a trucker to make it challenging. It seems like be it Medieval Dynasty, ATS, and many sims once you get past a certain threshold you could walk drive around the map and you would never run out of money.
I know real economy mod will probably help. Something that has LTL (less than truckload) where you deliver multiple places from a depot. Some kind of thing where you actually have to stop to eat would be nice. Vehicles that require maintance on their trucks other than damage caused by running into things.
Anyways I'm going to look around this morning.
Thanks
Sean

Worth the money Vern, it's quite a big state.
A mod Sean, called intermittent long trains. It is on the ATS Steam Workshop, buddy.

Is that a mod to make those trains longer, or somthing new? I know Texas is showing much more yard tracks in many places. Love the service roads as well. Plus the new update with pictures is really nice. I watched my son tonight, haven't bothered touching it myself.
Thanks
Sean

Looking nice. Probably grab it in a day or two once I've finished up my current Run 8 trip.

Doesn't put me to sleep Sean, but yes it is only a game. Boredom sets in very quickly with all the train games, lately.
Too many years doing the same old thing.

My son was driving and I eventually fell asleep on the couch. As nice as the eye candy is it still puts me to sleep. Nothing beats reality I'm afraid. A lesson I'm starting to finally grasp.
Thanks

Installed ATS earlier ready for tomorrows Texas release. Discovered a really nice FREE Peterbilt 359, recently released on the SCS ATS forums, mods section. Very nice mod and easily as good as the two different payware 359's that i own.

Yeah I've bought every map to date. Any time they add another state enhances the trips and it just keeps getting better. More variations, more cargo and opportunities.
For me a Run8 is more of a take it or leave it when it comes to DLC because I personally deal with a region at a time (for a long period). If say for CA some of it isn't interestng to me I still have enough connections to keep me satisfied.
Sure you can skip ATS routes as they come out but you're missing out on the opportunity for the sim to just get better. Usually you'll see more stuff come into the main game such as trailers etc. as well. Also the rate at which new routes come out is not too fast to kill your wallet. However, if you're new like everything else it will be a big purchase price to get all the stuff and get up to speed.
Thanks
Sean

Well I was about to get Montana but then TSW3 (name it not!) distracted me for a day or two and now I’m engrossed in Run 8 the truck sims have gone on the backburner. Even Snowrunner I haven’t touched for several weeks. Personally I still think Texas will be the game changer for ATS, opening up those (almost) transcontinental runs.

They are the only two games, ETS2 and ATS. That never get uninstalled from my pc Sean.
Everything else is disposable. But yes a spell away is good.
