I'm finding this sim is getting repetitive fast. Probably just need to take a break. Still a great sim.
Thanks

Havre MT - Oxnard CA, good little run apart from the stupid 55mph speed limit in CA.

You can free fly by enabling the console Sean and changing two entries in the config.cfg file.
Change this from 0 to 1 uset g_developer "1"
Change this from 0 to 1 uset g_console "1"

I was thinking of installing a free flying mod or something that can get me a bit closer to the stuff I can't reach. I know there are invisible walls but it would be worth exploring some time.
Thanks

Ah yes free money is so rewarding At least you get to play with all the goodies. Of course there are many ways to play and enjoy. There are lots of cool mods out there.
As my son is saying as I type this we probably won't add mods until all the states are out and it gets repetitive and boring. We are just filling in some of the places we haven't been yet.
It's not so much about capitalism it's more about purpose more than anything. For example in real life I'm not super ambitious and hold multiple jobs, or trying to find better jobs. I get very comfortable in things I'm used to and try and remain loyal to stuff I like if that makes sense.
Thanks
Sean

You miser Scott, get the money cheat buddy and you can have it all, hehehehehehehe.
Fair play Sean, we all like to play in different ways. I just find the business side, a boring grind.
You NA boys love all that rampant capitalism, me i am a socialist

As Scott knows I like to play vanilla (though I certainly admire all the work in the mods). Like Scott back in ETS I believe I downloaded a mod once with real life carriers or something. Haven't really looked back into it.
I find this sim more than any other sim out there has a very long play life to it. I'm going along right now about to pay off what I hope is my last loan with about a dozen employees and 3 garages. I have all the DLC maps and 1 DLC heavy hauler that came with one of the combos for a cheaper price than buying them together or something.
I like the idea and challenge of having to grind, save up, and the strategy involved. The only thing I may want to do differently is real economy mod or something that forces some of the other expenses like regular maintenance, meals, etc.
Thanks
Sean

I do like those shots Mike, Sadly, (Martin Bros. Trucking) still in it's infancy. Just a set of those rear fenders would break the bank at this time. I can only hope for better days as long as the Martin Brothers can stay afloat. Thankfully, the outstanding depts had been paid off long ago. Haven't upgraded our lone Garage located in Elko, Hired the lowest of the low drivers at the time. Now they're both right up there with the best of the rest, proud of them. One day will try a truck with a basic sleeper, just not yet. I'm the cheaper of the Martin Bros. Somewhat like Counts Customs, Danny wants to spend spend, spend, while his partner wants to save, save, save.

Oh, by the way Mike. I'm indeed an O'l Egg, you've most likely learned, I've been "Cracked" for a time now. If not, give it time, I'll rub off on you, you'll soon be "Scrabbled", if not already? "Come-En-Git-It".

Oh i see Sean's server, he doesn't do that anymore i believe. Or i would have had a go buddy.
Yes Depot Public and Depot + which it does say is more for experienced users, which leaves me out
Yeah well everyone has differences at times, Scott. Just human nature, doesn't have to end in a bust up though.
Yeah that's the way, i like a good laugh myself. Plus if i wind others up in a friendly way, my shoulders are broad enough to have it back.
I don't play ETS2 as much as ATS. When i do it's on one map mod. Grand Utopia, which is a 1:1 scale stand alone map. I never use half the DLC i own Scott, just purchased it to support SCS. As i think they do an excellent job and give value for money. All my trucks are plain darkish red livery. Yeah well someone with a fancy truck, would also mean a big fancy claim if anything went wrong buddy.
You can apply your own liveries in both games Scott. By creating your own reskins for trucks and trailers, by adding them as mods. Oh yes that would be fun a combined truck and train driving simulator. Even long distance rail freight, delivered to freight yards. For local delivery by truck, buddy.
Mike.
Yes, precisely Mike what I had in mind with that last portion, truckers having their place in a Train sim, (World-Sim) further delivering goods to the customers not having rail access directly. Hell, even the larger RRs have trucks / buses of their own which could also add another relm along the way. Esp. those into Passenger Ops. lol how about a Farming portion of the simulator. With SMRY I had envisioned my use of both Safety Valves & Industry Systems which I called "Adopt-An-Industry" where users would bid, own an open industry so to speak. They would control all that happened within its walls deciding types of cars, amounts, schedule times/when/where pickup/drop even preferred spotting positions if lots of tracks available etc. call the RR to make those arrangements happen. More than one person could help own/operate the business if desired. Even the sale of the business should a user become sick of it. Offer back to the community, where another/others could either continue the same, or even move in as a new business under a new name & even new line of products, which may require other style railcars different than last owner(s). The railroad itself would remain a team effort for all. I could see the same happening for the Trucking side while blending the 2/3 styles of simulators. So many options for sure. Both the RR geared Industries & Trucking geared industries could utilize both modes of transport or remain one side or the other with one mode of transport only, if desired. Could even shutdown industries for plant upgrades, restructuring, things of that nature, thus causing the RR to work with them in cutting back deliveries / pickups at times (CRS=Customized-Rail-Service). Even go out of business should no one wish to pick-up the pieces from time to time, should the community not wish to keep open as a group. Sorry, I could go on & on, surely building a picture thus far.Last edited by SMRY; 09-08-2022, 13:29.

MP is pointless in ATS in my opinon. Run8 when you work as a team a railroad is in operation. Run8 as a chat room are the ones I avoid. ATS with all it's glory can even show you trucks in your fleet passing you down the highway. I think that would be pretty cool, but it's a minor thing.
Thanks
Sean
