I don't like eggs much either Scott. RL the most toxic game community, known to mankind
Oh i see Sean's server, he doesn't do that anymore i believe. Or i would have had a go buddy.
Yes Depot Public and Depot + which it does say is more for experienced users, which leaves me out
Yeah well everyone has differences at times, Scott. Just human nature, doesn't have to end in a bust up though.
Yeah that's the way, i like a good laugh myself. Plus if i wind others up in a friendly way, my shoulders are broad enough to have it back.
I don't play ETS2 as much as ATS. When i do it's on one map mod. Grand Utopia, which is a 1:1 scale stand alone map. I never use half the DLC i own Scott, just purchased it to support SCS. As i think they do an excellent job and give value for money. All my trucks are plain darkish red livery. Yeah well someone with a fancy truck, would also mean a big fancy claim if anything went wrong buddy.
You can apply your own liveries in both games Scott. By creating your own reskins for trucks and trailers, by adding them as mods. Oh yes that would be fun a combined truck and train driving simulator. Even long distance rail freight, delivered to freight yards. For local delivery by truck, buddy.
Mike.

What is RTSX, never heard of that Scott ? I am not a regular MP player in anything and i understood that the Depot public was quite forgiving of beginners. I doubt i will persue MP anyway, being a bit of a loner these days.
With you in regards the memory banks and eyes Scott, it all starts to fail with age.
Steve agree with you about some mods taking a while to be updated and it can be frustrating. Montana is excellent and i guess they get better at map making, with experience. Plus better game technology as the game gets older.
I do not hesitate to buy the DLC whatever it is for ATS and ETS2 and i am 100% complete with both.
Looking forward to the day (if i am still here), when all the US states have been added.
Mike.
RTSX, that would be Seans RTS, at some point while RTS was silent for a time. I added "X" as Pvt Owner.
Yes, I believe The Depot maintains 2 styles of MP for the most part. MP1- for the general public to get their feet wet, many, move onto the next phase at The Depot, MP2- which is more structured, geared towards further realness, Rules, Regulations, Paperwork, & working together as a crew member in depth so to speak.
I believe HighballRun8 to be along the same lines / style. While offering their own sense of style. Myself I'm an RTSX lifer, though I don't partake a more active role in the MP-sessions of the times. More of a background role, Sean & Myself active just about daily behind the scenes. I like the fact, can have our differences at times, not going to pull the plug on one another like others of the past. "We agree, to disagree" without dung chuckin..lol... Hell even lightly "dung-chuckin" between us we both understand / know all in good fun, &, allowed to Rolloff the shoulders, trickle down to "Farming Simulator", lol
I maintain both ATS & ETS, via Steam updates, just to stay current. However, ETS I don't bother opening, ATS is homeland.
The addon-packs for paint scheme I've not bothered with, for the bulk of the trucks I see every day those fancy stripes / murals. Polished Alum, etc. just too expensive for the common driver, let alone any sizable fleet to maintain. I recall a realworld friend Joey (rip) drove for both Holmes & St. Johnsbury Trucking over the years, eventually went out on his own as an independent OO (Owner-Operator). His truck was quite fancy, but it didn't take long for shippers to back away from shipping goods with him, sighting too much/many liabilities. Joey told me several times, they stopped shipping with him, for they felt should something go wrong they be on the hook for a big fancy truck. Eventually he was forced to sell the truck, returned to the former terminals if he wanted to continue his driving.
I do have one wish for ATS/ETS & had approached the dev on numerous occasions.
I'd like to see them allow users to apply their own Co. stencils, logos, names etc. on the tractors for starters, in any colors & fonts users choose as well. To me most realistic, without that feature something's lost. Certainly not a deal breaker, I merely chock up to "perhaps one day".
An idea I've always felt would be grand the blending of ATS/Run8 so to speak, where while esp. MP for starters those that would like to drive truck could, while the RR operated as well, the 2 intertwined. I suppose SP-mode the same could be fun, esp., having AI truckdrivers doing their thing while RR AI did their thing alongside, all while the user preformed his/her chosen position RR/Trucker.

I like the new State of Montana, SCS seem to get better with every new release they put on Steam, Texas looks very good as well, the game is still hugely entertaining after, what is it now 6 years, long may it continue.
Cheerz. Steve.

Scott if you install mods manually and then ATS updates to a new full version, say 1.44 to 1.45. Some of the mods get broken and they have to be replaced manually. When the mod author updates them. Not a big deal really buddy. I only play single player and never played WOT contracts. I always thought that MP would have the usual fools, only interested in causing mayhem. As an aside i had a quick look at Run8 MP yesterday on the Depot public server, but there wasn't anybody on there.

Yes, Mike aware need to update mods at times to work with new ATS as they upgrade from time to time. Dependent on 3rd party mods some don't upgrade their creations quickly enough, &, or, not at all. Just grew rather old, I still keep the WOT contracts alive as I do enjoy the extra choices in the contracts offered. Just adds an extra tab alongside the others in which to choose from, no MP per say, Also, the contracts pay a little more, at times leads to other interesting trips. When I started out using TruckersMP was rather nice. Those that I joined worked together very nicely, was fun being part of planned convoys here & there, interacting via CB-Radio, gave a sense of realness. Then I believe many of the hateful RLSS began to follow me as I boasted of the fun, I enjoyed within ATS. Result was to kill off the O'l Man, thus, many Truckers gave up, not unlike myself.
As to R8Depot, they have their place, a fine spot to collect maps , info. as to MP, there too, when in its infancy, some became rotten, thus, I stay away. RTSX was my best experience in the MP arena, esp. during V1 days. The RTS tools of the day could be challenging, even that in itself added a realm of realness. To this day I still enjoy RTSX alongside Run8, both complement one another. Just sharing emails, ideas, wants, wishes with one another nice to go alongside Run8. Gosh those early RTSX sessions where Sean / Myself often found us as TagTeam during MP were just wonderful, often he'd play the role of Engman while I the Ground-Pounder, a position I enjoy most. Somehow, we both just fit into that cog. I also follow Highball-Run8 at times. They too have a fine following, most in it for the sense of realness, they too offer fine tools for those that care to implement them. Hell, I even tried operating a server/ discord, you name them, all lonely places, hell, I rarely visit my own forum, just no point. These days I find it very difficult to remember key commands, my sense of direction in the playing world. With the O'l eyes failing somedays better than others. The O'l memory banks, another story unto itself. I can remember the here & now, other times can't remember minute by minute, while able to remember details of long ago, other days, just the opposite, thus, I've pretty much backed away from all things MP, not wanting to slow a working MP-Server. TS is my sense of MP these days. Even here, some days more challenging typing out my mini novels. I feel like John-Boy of TS-Mountain, now we must visit the Baldwin Sisters for a touch of "The Recipe" one of these days.Last edited by SMRY; 09-08-2022, 07:22.

To be honest I found Run 8 MP a bit pointless, as I commented at the time. More like a chat room for the "clique". Drove a train a short way, parked it up in a yard intending to come back later with a note - "Please don't move or delete" - only to find some kind soul had deleted it. I would rather enjoy my own little world in SP.
That was a bit OT but there seem to be so many updates coming for ETS2 and ATS at the moment I'm staying in vanilla, at least as regards map mods.

I just love ATS and prefer it to ETS2 and it is better value for money, than any of the train games.
Enjoy buddy, get some mods in your set up if you haven't already. Definitely expands on the realism.
Mike.
I do enjoy the WOT (World Of Trucks) contracts, also do have The Truck Book as my logbook, though often don't bother with it these days. For a time I enjoyed using TruckersMP, & VTMLive believe it was called, sadly many young-uns began crashing into everyone, preforming cheats, being most unrealistic, general mayhem, thus I backed away went it alone once again.Last edited by SMRY; 09-07-2022, 19:58.

Appears Mike, your trucking Co much better off / further along than Martin Bros. Trucking. Your equipment looks to be much more expensive, while my young fleet 3 Petes, 1-Flatbed, 2-Lowboys pretty much low tier. We had plans to start with all green tractors in honor of my brother Donny (rip), sadly white was the cheapest, while easiest to find within the truck lots. The other 2 Petes look the same as this model other than the wheel colors 1 has blue for our male driver, while the other pink rims for our lady driver. I thought would stick out just enough perhaps I'd catch sight of them out on the O'l Highways & Byways. No such luck just yet. We had begun upgrades to the powerplants & tranny's month or so ago, as we pickup grab more of the heavy offerings these days. Didn't go with sleepers right off the back, custom do-dads, wanting to help the sim feel we're just starting out, needing to work our way up the ranks in the trucking business. Our 2 paid drivers are the ones that keep Martin Bros. afloat, while I pick & choose my loads, at times going back to driving other Co. supplied trucks/trailers to break things up. I find myself often grabbing shorter runs perhaps 100-300miles, as, just about all I can stand in one sitting. The 2 hired hands do the bulk of longer dists. Ok enough! "Keep-Em Shiney-Side-Up".

Alaska North to the future, map mod. My garage at Fairbanks does not have a building, just a marker showing it's location. Had to take the pic of the animated german shep.
