Absolutely Mike. Maybe throw in some mushy peas too but definitely not curry sauce! I’m a 100% traditional British when it comes to food. Can’t take anything hot or spicy which rules out Indian or Chinese/Thai etc.

I think you can get fish and chips in America, certainly years ago on our road trips some of the diners served up something resembling it but tended to be too many chips and the batter was more like what you get on supermarket fish.

Yeah sorry Vern, forgot the mushy peas. I don't eat anything foreign, only all the stuff i grew up with.

Nooooooo don't mess with the batter

As for Bruce, you stick too your fried Roo, buddy.

I don't mind fish 'n' chips, Mike, but I would prefer a kilo of freshly caught and cooked "schoolies" (school prawns, as distinct from King prawns), salt and vinegar and fresh bread & butter.
Living as I do in Yamba, renowned for its prawns, I could have this every day, but get bored with it.

You are big on your prawns then Bruce. Only fish/seafood i like is cod and in batter.

I like a nice couple of slices of bread & butter with my chips.

Personal choice buddy, i know what i like in regards most things.

But never deprecate, other peoples preferences.

Is that a new recipe from McDonalds these days, half the stuff you buy in these fast food outlets to me tastes like plastic, I don't mind experimenting with food, but, I draw the line at certain things, like mega spicy hot chillis that burn your stomach, and everything dripping in garlic butter, yuk.....That was one good thing about American cuisine, you don't drench everything in garlic like we do across the pond, you're sensible eaters.

              Cheerz. Steve.

I absolutely loath garlic but it seems to have become the goto seasoning in lieu of salt, even in stuff like chicken soup.

Yuuuuuuk, don't get me started on garlic. When my two youngest girls were still at home, they used to eat that garlic bread.

Just the smell of it cooking used to have me nearly throwing up. Plus you have to check everything for garlic that is in the shops. Stuff like cottage pie why is there garlic in that

Anyway you two boys that took my thread way off topic with food discussion.

                  Mike.

Back on topic, We Truckers have to eat, can barely climb the tank steps, &, or, get our gut under the wheel once inside the cab... lol. Besides, Garlic is good for keeping Vampires at bay. I'm going to hang 2 cloved from the headliner!.

                          That's fine,
just watchout for those Vampires along the way. Do avoid the Chat & Chew's, for they like to prey on truckers who stop for a meal.

A chat & chew is what we truckers call Restaurants / Eateries, some include the TruckStop's themselves.
Oh Mike, what are we to do with you?.
You've been stuck in that O'l COE so long, may wish to have a peek at the exhaust, for,
I believe some of the fumes have found their way up thru the doghouse.

Side Note, Really enjoy the looks of that Diamond Reo of yours.
Some day, I'd like to get my hands on an O'l Marmon Conventional. I really like the boxy look.
Several of the O'l Co.s in my hometown had those & fleets of Diamond Reo's & Diamond T.
Another popular model in town were the O'l Autocar's, most were strait models with both dump & mixer bodies.

Hahahahaha, truckers breath carbon monoxide for fun Scott

Yeah the Diamond Reo is a nice model, i think someone was doing a Marmon.

There are definitely Autocar mod trucks.
