That is Berlin i believe. Need a bus game that features the UK and not as an after thought.
Supposedly a 1 to 1 representation. It's improved a bit but overall still crap. Been in early access over a year now but still lots of weirdness going on. Cars and other vehicles suddenly start executing a zigzag path along the road, had a horrid graphics glitch where a curtain like barrier started to grow out the ground (used to get similar on MSTS routes). Basically a typical TML product, who manage to make DTG look good.
On the plus side I can use my gamepad unlike OMSI2 where I'm stuck using the mouse.
Already played over two hours so refund window gone.
I will make a final decision re SimRail on Friday.
Hey ETS and ATS are great sims and I totally get wanting to visit them again. I'll put it to you this way DTG has not answered questions or cares about the serious players. They are clearly out for the money so I think they are fair game. But talking about crap games in a post I started about a sim who does have a team and is busy in the midst of releasing it's first early access woudn't rub me to well if I was a developer. Again perhaps I don't have thick enough skin, and I've been accused of caring about what people think. But hearing what others think especially if your a developer is the only way you're going to learn.
I'm my biggest critic when it comes to developing, plans, ideas etc. I often talk myself out of more projects than I can remember. But if I was to finally be happy with something and have a good partner in a project which I hope to release one day soon. Perhaps it's a wonder in such a niche thing as train simulators why so many devlopers say screw this stuff.

Sean, anyone and everyone can be a "developer" these days - just take a look at the amount of garbage that is being spewed forth on Steam.
Any kid with a computer is capable of producing an "Early Release" piece of rubbish and issue it via Steam and call themselves a "developer" in the credits.
The amount of horror, zombie, hack-and-slash crap which appears in my recommendations is mind-boggling, as is the amount of unfinished stuff which the kid thinks will make his/her fortune.
These morons have forever tarnished the meaning of the term "games developer".
IBM XT i386; 512Kb RAM; 5.25" FDD; 1.4Mb FDD; 5Mb HDD; VGA 256-colour graphics card; AdLib soundcard; DR DOS 6.0; Windows 3.0
Gosh, any young-un with a PC can do it, be a dev. I know someone with all the answers, yet, they don't produce the "goons", oops, "goods" themselves. Now, I've been with Steam a long time. I know of the endless amounts of "horror, zombie, hack & slash" games while I shop, yet, none of them show up in my recommendations. Appears, someone bought into those types of so called "rubbish" at some point along the way "Goon"? Any "moron" can do it, you've a PC, when's the next big thing in RR Simulators to release, &, surely so realistic will be no need for further releases by any "morons" with a PC, & the greatest simulator will have no need for further DLC, updates /repairs etc. as the best title will be 100% out the door(s). Anyways, I still "Love-Ya Goon", we're "TS Family, It's What We Do."
As for you "Canadian Lumberjackson-5", keep up the fine work, working together as of late, has indeed been wonderful. Both the tower & it's assets coming along nicely between the 5 of us.
Yet still the crap gets through because, in many cases, the so-called developer includes the tag "Simulation" and/or "Strategy"....two types for which I like to see recommendations.

You spoke earlier all those types being "rubbish". Why would they show up in your recommendations in the first place, esp. if that "rubbish" not being your thing? They're not my thing, &, they don't show-up in my recommendations in the first place, due to that preference. I have both Simulation & Strategy, along with others in my preferences, still not bombarded with "rubbish". Anyways, Your still family "Buddy".
Update: You've listed your own answer to all that "rubbish" bombarding you in the first place. The very young seem to be into that "rubbish", which you've added to your preferences / search engine etc. thus, now your bombarded based on your own doings. lol see, that wasn't so bad.
.....Why would they show up in your recommendations in the first place, esp. if that "rubbish" not being your thing? ...
Because of he multiple tags used by many game-makers.
If I wanted to bar everything other than "Simulation" and "Strategy" doing so will not block any game that includes, for example, the tags "Simulation" and "Hack and Slash".
Even though I have barred the second type it will still appear because I have allowed "Simulation" games to be listed.
I can't block everything because of the multiplicity of tags used by game-makers - they don't discriminate.
How can you make a MMORPG horror slasher and legitimately add the tag "Simulation"?!! Totally ludicrous!

As far as Steam goes I don't bother with tags or worry about what makes their library. Do I see games that don't fit my interest sure but I really don't focus on tags much anymore because I'm open to survival, simulations, or anything that I may not have thought about. Most of the best information comes from YouTube and word of mouth recommendations. Generally speaking I tend to target very specific generes. The railroad sims I already know about or will find about sometimes here, friends, or it gets recommended to me on YouTube.
Now I'm not sure about the algorithm of Steam, but YouTube and even search engines will pull up enough information if your targeting something. The same thing if I'm lookng for survival. Anything else I may watch a video on best open world games of 2022, or survival, or transportation, or simulations so I really don't use Steam for that.
Besides I usually try to invest myself into a sim as much as I can. For the better part of 10 years my main goto has been Run8. Run8 is still a major goto on the side at the moment as I wait for better DLC routes. Obviously SimRail and Railroader are the two that is on my radar right now. So I don't concern myself that much with what is out there unless it's something that already has my attention.
But now there is the development between myself, Scott, and likely my son Emmett will join in as he is learning Unity by watching me. I'm not going to bother announcing anything becasue I don't want to get the vapourware police on me, but I have never been as confident as I am right now. Does that make me a developer, to me and Scott, and especially my son the answer is yes. Scott, Emmett and I are having fun with this project. The programming side I feel I can handle, and we are making progress.
As for the original post that started this thread. It was SimRail that inspired me to revisit this. It's coming out on Friday and I think they are great developers personally. They deal with issues, and have done their best in communicating with an English audience as best as they can. Will they answer everyone, probably not. But they currently have a forum, and they are open to criticism. They aren't shutting down their forum.
As for my original concerns of what other people think. The further I move forward with Tower I really don't seem to care anymore. I suspect the gentlemen at SimRail probably are not worreid about what others who don't support them have to say. All they care about are those that want to make it better, and help them.

If "the best they can" definition includes ignoring requests on whether or not SP will have a 'save' function then sure, they've communicated as best they can.
"Best" just needs some improvement.

Thanks

Whoa there Sean... Perhaps I should have been clearer but I wasn't bundling SimRail in that category. It's actually a fine game and I probably will end up buying it tomorrow. I was actually referring to "The Bus" and the Mass Effect Legendary (with its EA associated baggage and unplayable unless you pull out the joypad and flight stick).
You didn't need to be clearer, as you said games and it could of meant anything. I was also curious as where I fall in the line as just another crap developer
I was simply standing up for the crap game developers (whoever they are) as I do consider myself a developer despite producing very little (I have released a few very small programs such as the original RTS Beta for Run8 V1 and others). But honestly that was for a niche of niche of possilby a niche (lets just say niche to the 3rd) which is not very significant as many who play sims don't even know what Run8 or even further RTS is or was, it meant something to a select few before Run8 V2 made it obsolete (which I applaud an enjoyed just like V3).
Things for me right now may seem slow to the outsider, but they are developing rapidly to myself, Emmett, and Scott. So much so that probably each passing day we're getting closer I care less about what others think. So all it was simply was a simple one liner and it never made me really think once about the goals I have with our team.
I'm so focused that I really haven't thought much about Friday's release I may wait until the weekend. I haven't been on forums as much. Which is also why I posted the one liner. I had about 15 minutes to kill this morning so I thought I'd explain no offense taken, I'm just having a little fun.
