Bruce, MP has never been my thing to be honest. Prologue was very early in development though and obviously not ready for public consumption. Hence the delay to the full release, buddy.

@Bruce, I played the prologue and like you I wasn't terribly impressed, reminded me of Railroad Tycoon 3. What's being tested now is much, much better (apart from the server issues) and well worth another look if you can get on the test (and a server... ).
Thank you Vernon, i will deffo have a good test of that. I will look at another drive in MP later, as long as anyone on the server lets me get on with doing my own thing.

I think the servers might be back up now, but it does seem to have rather poor reliability.

Had another go earlier, spawned into a freight consist 07 on the move. I thought this is good, autopilot as well. Got to the first signal and sat there on red for a while. Tried to get a path by calling the two lemons that were doing dispatching. They were talking back and fore to each other and ignoring me.

So i just left and will not bother with MP again.

Here is how my night went. Got on a EN2 and everything was bogged down. Quit found another train was good for a few minutes and everything was bogged down. Then the server reset.

I was able to get a train NB towards Warsaw right from the start of the line and run it all the way to the north end for 2 hours. I also accidentally was on a forgin server earlier and it was dead as hell.

I can't stress this enough to anyon having issues. If people are ruining your fun, simply find a server that doesn't have people on it (trust me there are plenty just look at the list). If you get booted consider it a blessing because it means things should calm down and you will have a great run.

I had 1 delay of a few minutes getting out of the busy area at the start of my run heading north. Lazy was not an issue and I was as much as 10 minutes ahead of schedule with my passenger before being forced by the next station stop to wait for full departure. It allowed me to go explore the area and have a nice break.

Check my live stream from tonight the 17th as it was a very enjoyable and pleasant experience. Ran end to end for about 2.5 hours.

            Thanks

Here is the video from tonight.

One highlight I forgot was after getting out of the busy area (I think I was in a bit of traffic just a few yellows and stops etc.) I wound up overtaking a cargo train. Well what was cool was that same cargo train overtaked me when I came to the next station. Then eventually I overtook it yet again and I never seen it after that

The freight was a player train as well (though my player list was blank for some reason). Lots of yapping in chat at the beginning but that calmed down once I got out of the big cities.

              Thanks

              Sean

It's Saturday night and I'm on the EN2 server again. This time the goal is hopefully making it to the final station and complete a passenger run.Official Di...

Good clip Sean - don't forget to use the shunt regulator. Also for some reason when you put the train brake in initial, the pressure didn't seem to change on the HUD?

There in a nutshell is a reason why MP has never been an attraction for me.....in any game, not just SimRail.

There are people who can have fun but have a common goal. But if you don't see a server that is lightly populated by humans yet the AI runs nice, then you're not really looking. Don't worry so much about the MP just go out and have fun at whatever you like. Plenty of options to choose from.

                    Thanks

I found a driver only one USA, 2 drivers on it. Started in motion on a freight service, in auto. I thought this is good, all clear signals. 11 minutes later it ended, i thought at least i could get to see a fair bit of the route. But no chance, no idea why i keep going back i must be thick. MP never has been my bag.

I am waiting for SP now, the novelty having worn off a bit. Gone back to TSW thought I'd try the new German route as wife handed me a Steam voucher as an early Christmas. Not bad actually, though no way worth £30. The 110 is nice and to my surprise the N-wagon cab car is great, really noisy and rattly complete contrast to the Dosto driving trailers on the other routes. 27 miles is way too short though, should have gone on much further.

When you select a service look for the estimated time remaining (or whatever it's called). Some of them are almost at the end of the line. It's kind of nice because you will find a service to whatever time you have available.

                          Thanks

Didn't know that information was available thanks Sean, appreciate the info.

DTG buddy = Don't Trust Games. Plus 27 miles is just extracting the urine.
