Dovetail have published a new sim (developed by another mob).
    On Steam.....
Become a tram driver! Hop back into the cab for the ultimate tram driving experience. Drive modern real-world trams from various cities with physics indistinguishable from the real thing.

"...With physics indistinguishable from the real thing."

I wonder if that will come back to bite them in the arse?

edit: have watched a couple of gameplay videos and must say it seems interesting. Not overly fussed by the fictional route despite how good it looks. Also unsure as to how micro-managey the game will become as you build your own tram network...if it's like Railroader, then no thanks.

Same people who did the Vienna and Munich sims which are not great.

Not sure why even been pushed as early access given the developers already established. And certainly not early access worthy price.

Only difference to previous offerings apparently a bit of a strategy element, running the company, defining the timetable etc. But for payware fictional setting a poor choice.

I picked up a copy and had a short go of it yesterday. It's definitely EA so be aware. Can't rebind keys so I was having a bit of trouble accidently applying the emergency brake when I was just trying to slow (the e-brake is currently mapped to the 'D' key, for keyboard/mouse, which in TSC and TSW is my throttle down lol). The signals are difficult to spot at times and the speed change signage for the trams are hard to spot/non-existent. There is also something weird happening with their 'passengers'- you arrive at a tram stop and there are maybe three people wandering around (a la TSW) but if you go to the interior view there are like twenty people pushing into the seating area, mirror shows similar, so it's almost like the interior camera is a cutscene if you get my meaning.

I haven't touched the management/career mode portion of the game but I've a growing fear it's very much like 'Railroader' in the micromanagement aspect. Will check it out a bit later.

Asking for a refund. The tram driving alone is really not interesting, I'd rather spend my sim time doing passenger ops in TSW/TSC. I had a look at the 'develop your own Tram service' in career mode and I can't be bothered. It's tedious, uninteresting, micro-management stuff that makes 'Railroader' a GOTY candidate. I'm left to wonder why Focus is making DTG publish this?

Because they don’t have many coders and artists left to develop their own stuff! Seriously, just got to look at TSW where it seems lions share of content starting to come from third parties and TSC where DTG are no longer making content. I get the vibe much of the talent, who brought us the BR classic diesels for TSW are long gone leaving mostly marketing and advertising people.

It seems to be the way the industry is going. The only other thing I can think of is the tram dev team works with the UE engine so may be potential candidates to fill yet another 3rd party role in building packages for TSW?
