    Sniper Elite 4

Thought I would start a separate thread on this rather than the discussion we've been having in the TSC forum!

Anyhow up and running now, really enjoying the first mission. Secret is not to rush in headlong like it's GTA or similar. You need to circle around, popping goons as you find them all the time gradually working towards the main objectives. Getting quite a few headshots in!

Wanted to cut my teeth on 4 first. 5 is still quite expensive even in the sales. Maybe in a few months!

I tend to go around killing all the enemy troops, before i carry out any of the objectives. Usual takes me about 3.5 hrs to achieve each level, or so it tells me at the end.

Sounds like the strategy I’ve adopted. I assume unlike some other games they don’t regenerate at least on lower difficulty levels. Call me strange but I actually find it quite relaxing, crouching or even crawling along the ground in cover, scoping things out with the binoculars then taking the shot(s). Haven’t found a use yet for any of the bombs or mines I’ve picked up. Could be useful to leave one or two to the rear of you in case the AI sends someone sneaking up behind. Though I’d probably forget where I put them and end up fragging myself!

No there is no re-generation in the early levels Vern. I will not ruin it for you by mentioning something in later levels. As i am not sure if it is actually re-generation.

No idea how to use mines, TNT etc. The trip mines are useful, but you can pretty much see on the mini map and main map if anyone is in your vicinity.

Enjoy buddy, i am having fun even though i have played through it before.

I played SE4 over and over....loved the game.
Never did any online/multiplay stuff, always preferring the single-player option.
It was a Steam purchase so if I ever feel like revisiting it I just have to do a reinstall.

Tried SE5 but it never really grabbed me the same way that its predeccessor did.

It's a great game Bruce, if only i didn't keep getting deaded 😂.

Finished the main campaign, just started one of the DLC campaigns and got deaded. 🤣

I'm still plodding through the first mission. Took down two of the officers, more by accident by design and cleared the checkpoint. Learned the hard way the main character doesn't survive jumping down a cliff!

No power-armour in this game, Vern.

I don't know why, Mike, but it just doesn't feel as interesting as SE4. It didn't really do anything for me.

Understood Bruce thank you. I will probably give it a miss then, or maybe grab it on sale for a fiver 😉.

You know, I think you're right - SE3 and 4 were both amazing. 5 wasn't terrible by any means, but I don't think it was any better than 3 or 4 and of course, being newer, 5's more expensive.
