Mike, good morning (my time....7:10 AM Tuesday).

Although FO76 is online and newer than FO4 it is not "better". Graphics are the same, sounds are the same. As a multiplayer form of Fallout it has not been the overwhelming success that Bethesda hoped for. Many more people play FO4.

Now be warned that unless you install F4SE before playing the game, and which gives you the ability to setup your Zombie Walkers mod as soon as you start the game (you hit the Esc key once you are past the loading screen), you will be faced with creepie-crawlies when escaping the vault.

I did a couple of videos back in May....they may be of some use to you, Mike. They are of the modded game as I had it at that time.
(I stopped after the fourth one as I then did the Bethesda upgrade.)

In sequence, earliest at the top and each one less than 10 minutes. No commentary.

Hiya Bruce, good morning Vietnam (11:17 here Tuesday - i use 24hr clock format) 🤣.

Started playing again yesterday, sirens went off and we were running to the shelter and the flaming game crashed. So i haven't bothered since buddy. I better get that F4SE installed then Bruce, any giant insects and i will be gone. Game deleted and never played again.

But before i do anything i am going to watch all your videos, that you generously linked to above. So many thanks for taking the time.

About FO 76, MP only would stop me buying it. But also now that you have clarified that it is not any better, visually or game play wise.

I will stick to learning and playing FO4 👍.

      Thanks very much.

      Mike.

It's a pleasure to help if and when I can, Mike.
I'm confident that if you stick with it and overcome any crashes that you'll like the game....it is so moddable that I'm sure you'll be able to tweak it to how you like it..

That F4SE is not compatible with the GOG edition of the game, so asked for a refund and will get the Steam version. Bit concerned about the creepie crawlies in your 1st two videos. Just about to watch the last two. Thanks again buddy, i was going to scrap it all, but had a rethink in the last couple of hours.

EDIT, watched the last two vids thanks buddy. I love zombies, hehehehehehe. My favourite tv shows of late are The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead and Z Nation.

          Mike.

Mike, when you start the default game you re-enter the world - now devastated and a wasteland - from the vault and that's when you first encounter the first type of mutated creatures....the Radroach. A giant cockroach that can bite and will pass on radiation to you.
You wil be faced with several of these things until you get the Pip-Boy near the exit controls adjacent the extendable ramp.

However, once you activate the Zombie Walkers mod using the Pip-Boy, future spawns of any of these creatures can be controlled....as per my description earlier in this thread.

Alternatively....and this would be my preferred method for you, so that you have Zombie Walkers accessible right from when you actually become your character...download and install F4SE, follow the simple instructions, and when you start the game after becoming your character, press the [Esc] key and you should see the following screen.....

Name:	Mods.jpg
Views:	301
Size:	40.4 KB
ID:	2309063

Click on the highlighted bit and then this screen will appear......

Name:	Mods_2.jpg
Views:	58
Size:	89.3 KB
ID:	2309064

            Then.......

Size:	105.7 KB
ID:	2309065

And you now have complete control over what you want to play against insofar as creepie-crawlies are concerned....and some other adjustments as well.

Might I also suggest that after you first start the game via the Steam "play" interface that from then on you use the Nexus Mod Manager screen as per the following image.....

This allows you to activate, or deactivate, every mod that you install for the game (and many other games covered by Nexus.)
I use a shortcut icon on my Desktop, click on it and the NMM screen comes up, I then click on the "Launch F4SE" circled in the image and away I go.

If you have a problem, let me know and I'll do what I can to help.

Hiya Bruce i am still trying to get the two mods you recommended installed and activated buddy. Installed the Vortex mod manager, but can't find an option to search for the two zip files to install them. Manual install (both methods researched on YT) says i have to amend certain ini files to allow mods to work. So i am a bit befuddled at the moment, does Vortex do everything for you with the install and activate procedure. If so i will have to get the files again from Nexus, but this time download them using Vortex and not a manual browser download. This is all with the Steam version i have now grabbed. I might cancel my refund request with GOG and keep that as a Fallout London only version.

I have read all the above Bruce, many thanks yet again 👍👍. When i eventually get around to running the game i will do as you suggest.

Appreciate all your help and patience buddy.

              Mike.

Using Vortex you should be able to let them be installed automatically, Mike. Saves a lot of stuffing around. Use it to download and install.
I have been using Nexus's Mod Manager, not the newer Vortex, and it is just so easy when it comes to installing mods.

You'll get there, mate. Well worth it.

Hi Bruce, yup worked out how to get Vortex to use the already downloaded zip files.

Got the same problem with this version as i had with the GOG version. Running to the shelter, get to the wooden bridge and the game crashes. Just tried 4 times and it crashed every time buddy. Could it be this F4SE thingie causing it ? Also on the main game menu, there is an option............. Mods. If i select it i get a pop up saying something like......................cannot perform this operation at this time.

                  Best regards,
                  Mike.

Re-installed Bruce, only installed the two mods you recommended. Didn't put that F4SE in and it played fine. Saved and got out quick, when i was walking around the Vault after getting out of the chamber whatsit. There was a massive creepie crawlie. I was told that Open World 76 had been activated though. Nice one buddy, just got to find this PIP thing now.

                    All the best,
                    Mike.

                      That's great, Mike!!
The Pip-Boy is near the control stand which opens the vault door but there's a large radroach near it. Once you get the Pip-Boy you can then use the Zombie Walkers menu to set it up.

Yeah Bruce, the dimwit got there in the end 🤣. Vortex told me F4SE was missing and i should install it. So i did and the game is still running fine. I have to get out of the Vault double quick, those insects are really freaking me out. Not sure which door is the exit sorry, tried a couple but they do not lead to the outside. But thanks to your help, i am progressing 👍👍.

                        Best wishes,
                        Mike.

                          Mike.....
As long as you keep saving when you make even a little bit of progress, you'll get there.
Have a look at this video...it's only about 3 minutes long. The guy is exiting the pod room and then to the vault exit.

Once I really started to get into the game and when I realised how much I enjoyed it I bought the "manual"...this

Way more expensive now than when I bought my copy back in 2019, but so damn helpful.
