JonMSTS Route--Springfield Terminal v2. This is mostly a scenic update for the original Springfield Terminal route, but it is a complete route and will not interfere with the original route if you want to keep it as well. The six mile long STRy was the last electric shortline in New England. The line connected Springfield Vermont with the Boston and Maine at Charlestown, New Hampshire. The route is set in the early 1950s and includes passenger only trackage that was taken out of service in 1947. Route requires New Roads v4.0, xtracks v3.20, and MSTSBin 1.7. Created by Paul Charland.

Could it be the Garrett, Meyersdale and Salisbury? Also know as the Pennsylvania & Maryland Street Railway? It paralleled the Casselman River. It also paralleled the WM and B&O mainlines between Meyersdale and Garrett.

I read this as you are looking for a real route. However, if you are referring to an MSTS route that was popular, might it be the London and Port Stanley?
