            Hi Folks,

Wow - now that's a sight to see - yet - so few around here embrace steam - some things I'll never understand...

I've been following this for quite a while. ITS ALIVE!!!!

Also looking forward to 1309 in July. I remember bringing that one up and being shot down for every reason under the sun. Well dang it, It's going to run again afterall.

Now, Someone get N&W 1218 and N&W 2156 under steam.

Oh, Lets talk to CSX about a certain 2-6-6-6 at the B&O museum as well.

Eric, I am still awaiting UP 966 to join her sisters. They keep saying it's gonna happen. Just don't know when? They need to send her off to the same rebuild outfit that did the other three a while ago.

She is running now. Is that a water tank behind the tender?
They said it couldn't be done. It was too heavy, too long, it burned too much fuel, and would cost too much to restore. But they were wrong. Union Pacific, B...

What do they need the diesel for?

I like the policeman holding a drone at the end. Somebody might be in a lot of trouble!

                          A couple of possibilities:

Most likely the diesels are doing most of the work pulling the train while the steamers are doing just enough to sound right.

                          or

The diesel could be a backup in case something goes wrong with the steam power, assuming it actually is pulling the train

Agreed, most likely back up and dynamic braking. I also saw the ATSF 3751 haul a diesel for the extra weight during a break in run after a rebuild.
