Watched the first 40 minutes on the exercise bike this morning. Outstanding stuff. Shame about the ultra modern train, but hoping for a Deltic or even HST cab ride these days isn't going to happen!

Thanks for sharing. It brought back many memories of my time living in the NE of England in the mid to late 1970s.

Watched it this morning thanks Bruce, found it a bit boring. Hitachi plastic emu\demu. I had to laugh when it stopped at that new station, Renton was it or similar. There was one passenger getting on, we get more activity at Johnston station

Well, I'm sorry about that, Mike.
I'll email Don and ask him to pick up his game, shall I?

Now now, don't get your knickers in a twist, Bruce

Not Don's fault i am just not predisposed to the ECML or anything to do with the LNER (railway company not modern TOC).

I much prefer the WCML route into Scotland, buddy.

That looks very cool. If the United States doesn't open up for me this year I may be heading to Europe with Emmett for the 1st time out of North America.

              Thanks

The Hitachi trains look smart on the outside but the interiors are awful. Seats that resemble ironing boards and stark white panelling with over bright fluorescent lights.

Sounds like a fun way to travel Vern

I have refused to travel by rail, since privatisation was introduced.

So i have no idea what all this modern rolling stock is like.

Thanks for the updated video Bruce. I howled with laughter at the very start when the guard to driver buzzer sounded like a strangled duck, I had to pause the video as I spat coffee all over my monitor....... Must remember not to eat and drink whilst watching these YooToob vids.

                    Cheerz. Steve.

Oh, I've done the coffee-spit before, Steve! Nothing to be ashamed of, mate.

                        Hmmm.
I've noticed several similar comments from you over the years, Mike....refusal to visit restored railways because they are pretend; dislike of plastic train carriages because they aren't made from solid British steel forged in furnaces fired with Welsh coal; objecting to international tourists because they aren't Welsh and the complete dislike of any food that doesn't contain leeks.

                        I think there's a trend, here.

Similar to the Spanish-made crap that has been forced upon Sydney, and the Indonesian-made harbour ferries which won't fit under some low bridges whilst passengers are on the top deck!!

What these fiascos have led to, reinforced by two years of COVID isolation and effects on the economy, is for Australia to once again start manufacturing "stuff" instead of importing it all.
                          Every cloud....etc.

Yup it's called, lets look at the world how it really is. Not through some rose tinted goggles, pretending that everything is better now than it used to be.

Privatisation is a complete disaster. Preservation railways are some make believe joke. We built all our own loco's and rolling stock years ago. Not just for our own use, but also for the rest of the world. Now we buy rubbish from, Spain, Japan, Germany, anywhere but in the UK.

Don't like leeks Bruce and the one thing i cannot stand is garlic. God knows why everything suddenly needs to have garlic in it, these days.

The trend is Bruce, i know my own mind buddy. I know what i like and what i don't like.

                            Mike.

It was a light-hearted jibe, Mike - not a serious poke in the ribs.
