    File Library Tweaks

If Discovery Channel can have Shark Week, then I guess we can have Tweak Week ---

    1) Search Results Pagination

When paging thru search results in the file library, there are now options to jump to the first and last 25 records returned.

Previously, you'd have to page forward or backward 25 results at a time. Hopefully this helps find files a little quicker in a large result set.

    2) Zip Archive Viewing

When viewing a zip archive, there's now an option to Hide File listing, which will filter so that you only see any images and text contents in the zip file.

That should be helpful for reviewing items like the ReadMe and deciding if a file is worth your time downloading without having to scroll thru hundreds of file listings.

    3) File ID searching

When using the Exact File ID option for searching, any other filters or settings that might be set on the page (i.e. region, section, and date ranges) will be ignored.

The thought behind this is if you're telling the engine it's an exact file ID, you probably know what you're looking for already....

Eric, that is all great information. As information I just uploaded a 1G file of my incomplete Virginian route. A close look at the map used for a thumbnail will make one think that was an awful busy spider was involved. However in uploading, I did not find a category for incomplete, so I just used the routes category. This one has a lot of documentation and I will probably upload a comment to the forums, once the route is up for electronic grabs, that has some more data. A lad in WV for example has documented almost all of the old coal camps (villages owned by the mine company) there ever were and much of the data as to when a mine was active or not came from there. I believe there are 47 mines located in the sim, which ought to occupy a detailer for a while. Once thing I have noticed is that the pieces of transfer I formerly used, if aligned perfectly to the track, would turn a degree or so when brought up in TSRE, so I have ceased to use those and future lads tinkering with my routes are welcome to paint the textures. In the comment part of the uploader I did specify that it was an incomplete route. Simon van de Laak sent me his part a good 10 years ago which covered Mullens to just east of Glen Lynn. I added the rats nest of coal branches and extended the main to Roanoke.

For now that's the best place to park it.

Subcategories will be coming "soon" - the requirements are written, just waiting on the programming and testing.
