    CN Locomotive sale

    Howdy.

I recall several days ago reading a post concerning CN and Wisconsin Central.

I was just looking through my e-mail from one of my railroad groups and found a posting about CN having a locomotive sale May 12th.

They are apparently selling 108 locomotives, thirteen of them being WC SD 45s as well as three F45s.

    It is quite a list.

The WC SD45s are sitting at Homewood Illinois, (Illinois Central yard.) according to the list.

I just thought I'd toss this info out for any who might be interested.

EDIT; Here is the URL for the Locomotive list.

    Thanks,
    Sam

I'd love a GP9RM... what are they asking? I really dont want to bid to find out. Are we talking in the 10's of 1000's here?

a GP would be cool too! - put that in the front yard and notch it up in idle, wounder what the neighbours would say though :S

i was reading in Trains mag that they want GP38-2's for 60'000, which is the same price for a Chrysler Voyager - lol. Dunno what to get, a Voyager or a GP38-2 :P lol

        Cheers

          Howdy,

I guess it depends on the folks bidding on them. I thought about entering a bid for a couple, but I don't think $20 will hold up long

I did find some interesting stuff on their website though.

They have data sheets in PDF file for each model being sold.

If only I could get decent when it comes to 3d modelling.

          Thanks,
          Sam

I'd go with the GP38-2. Even though it's around 25-30 years old, it'll probably still be around when that Chrysler Voyager has hit the scrapheap.

not to strange. I once met a fellow railfan, and we were watching some of his videos, when he said "Hey, i wanna show oyu something" so we went to his garage, and he wipped the sheets off of an SW9, missing a few hood doors and window glass, oh, and the engine :-) but in good condition (PS. The horn worked, lol)
