CR SD60M in Disney's Bolt

Look in the trailer at about 1:45 seconds in. Looks to be an undec CR SD60M leading a manifest train. They actually did a decent job on the dimensions of the EMD wide-cab...

Looks more like an SD70MAC or some type of SD70 series. SD60M's had a square looking door with 4 hinges, whereas the SD70 series widecabs have a pentagonal door with 3 hinges. The front grab irons are also more of an SD70 design. Looks good though, I think.

Conrail SD70MAC?

Awe C'mon Nick. Haha, you truly are a rivet counter. While deep down I think I knew those details you mentioned as well, I just looked and saw a blue, wide-cab EMD and thought "Oh.....Conrail SD60....Sweet!". It was in such a short segment of the clip I never thought to look at the geometry of the door, or how many hinges were attached to it. I did however notice (just didn't bother mentioning it) that the locomotive depicted in the movie has ditch lights above the anti climber, whereas CR SD60Ms had them mounted below. It also is minus the red CR classification lights. And I'm sure I could come up with a list of differences that's a lot longer than that if I looked at a picture. All in all, I am just pleased to see the folks as Disney (Pixar?) actually take the time to make a semi-accurate rendition of a modern day freight train.

But as far as being totally accurate for a prototype CR locomotive, they may not have "missed the train". It is more than likely in my opinion upon further review that they may have been working from photos of an ex-CR SD70MAC on CSX's roster (hence the road number being a 3 digit number). I assume they changed the numbers and took all lettering and white striping off (including the bow wave on the front) to avoid any possible copyright infringements. As some of us in the MSTS community know, CSX can be picky about the use of their logo (or logos of fallen flags that they own) on animated 3D models of their rolling stock.

Jeeze Nick, how could you miss the most important detail about the cab door? :P door placement: it's on the engineers side of the cab. Except for the SD60I, all SD60Ms (both 2 window and three window cab versions) have the nose on the conductors side. But none the less they got their idea off of a wide cab EMD...
