For the kind of money they are asking for without any rolling stock at all. I will pass on this route. I wish they continued working on the original route which was Beaumont Pass instead of the West Colton yard.

MSTS has not seen a good switching route like this West Colton route. The activity potential is greater than any route out there. For the money aspect, $35 barely takes you(and wife) to dinner at a sit-down restaurant - get real please!

So what? If that is what you and others are into that kind of thing. Be my guest....Feel free to spend that kind of money if you would like on this route, But on my end. I can clearly see that this isnt worth the $35 for the route.

I know $35 wouldnt cover dinner. Everytime my wife and I go out dinner which is once a month at out favorite BBQ joint. It comes to about $75 with everything included and that is without any drinks.
That price is outrageous for just the route! No thanks! I could purchase a route, and a loco pack from Streamlines for that kinda money.
Indeed, John, you would be much smarter investing it in stocks. I mean, when were taking about an outrageous amount of money like this, you really need to be careful.
Those of you complaining about the price, once again, build me an HO scale replica of this route and send me a recipt for the total costs, if it is less than $35 dollars, I'll buy you this route. Lmao.
Fair is all in the eye of the beholder. If you have fun with it, and it's a good product, it was worth your money.
Seems that there's a lot of judging a book by its cover going on. I will be reviewing this route, and I will pass no judgment on it prior to seeing it in the sim.
Another question I have to ask: Why is it that when freeware builders are working on a route, we praise them, but when payware companies release a route, it becomes controversial? It's the same route editor, and both types of people are railfans who do it for some enjoyment in seeing a final product. Payware vs. Freeware are just two separate ideologies. Think about it like two concerts performed by the same musician. Let's say one concert is free, and the other costs money to attend. Is the free concert by nature better than the one that costs money? No. They're just two different concerts.
I address this issue in my Cajon Pass review here:
...now that we've had the chance to look at both the freeware and payware incarnations of Cajon Pass, which one ultimately does the better job?Links:Official...
I remember when Soldier Summit came out last year...the topic where I posted the link to my review eventually got locked due to a fight breaking out between some forum members as to whether or not it was a good product. I wish we as a community could progress past this type of nonsense.

Well...I tell ya what, If someone I know would FINISH that badlands/ Abo route, I for one would cough up more than 35 bucks,,,,,WITHOUT rolling stock
