'RigidBody' Error

I am making an activity on the NEC v4, but now when I run it I get a 'RigidBody' error. I have searched the forums on the error but none of the listed solutions are working for me. Help would be appreciated.

I recently got a strange 'rigidcar' error when I moved an activity from one release of a particular route to a new release which had moved a siding on which I had located a loose consist. While you have not changed the route release, the error may be related to loose consists which you have recently added to your activity.

I tried the 'verify starting state', but it does not show any errors. Also, I have not added any loose consists since the problem started.

I've had this happen, one was a loose consist placed too close to a turnout.
Another was a car placed too close to the end of track.
They didn't show in the "verify starting state", had to search for the consist(s) in AE and move them away from the junction (end).

Okay, I found the problem. It looks like I accidentally moved one of my loose consists to a place where it was off the end of the track. Thanks for you help everyone!

P.S. This is an activity for the Silver Meteor #97 and I may release it when it's done.

Has anayon any suggestions as to what do do when the reference number given in the error message does not match any ID number in the activity?

Did you Press F7 to bring up the numbers?

Regards

Thanks for your response Vince.

I mean the 200233 in the error message "Failed to initialize car <200233> RigidBody".

I do not understand your reference to F7.

Failed to initialize car <200nnn> Rigidbody

Errr. . .you're welcome David but my response was August 20th last year.
Anyway the response is the same: http://msts.steam4me.net/msts_errors.html#rigid
and in case you coulden't get to the site here is the complete verbage;

Error Message - Failed to initialize car <200nnn> Rigidbody
These errors are caused by placing a consist on a siding for which it is too long or over a set of points (switches).
Open Activity Editor, select the Activity and click on "Verify Starting State". This will show you where the error is.
Move the consist so that it fits on the track properly and re-run "Verify Starting State".
------------ ---------- ------------ ---------- ------------ ---------- ---
When you look at the static consists on the sidings it may not be apparent that there is a car off the end of the siding because a car off the end IS NOT VISIBLE.
You have to move the consist to see any car off the end.
Cheers
PS----->> The F7 key in the Sim displays the consist car numbers.

Sorry Vince my reply should have been to RonP, not you! Thank you for the response. However the problem is that the <200nnn> number given is not the number of a static consist, or a Service for that matter, in the activity.

I cannot use F7 in the sim as the activity will not run. However the numbers would be that same as those in AE to which I am referring.

David

Hi David, As Vince says it as got to be a Consist,If you go into the Activity Editor for the route and bring up the activity then click View on the top line
Scroll down and click Service info, that puts all the service number up,look for a service number near to the one you have,"Failed to initialize car <200233> RigidBody" and move the Consist about, the self same thing happened to last week,I tried to put a 10 wagon Consist on a siding that could only hold 6,it looked OK .saved OK but threw up the "Failed to initialize car.

Regards

Ron, I also would have expected to find this but I assure you that 200233 is not the number of a Service or a Loose Consist.

Hi Davod,
Use the windows search function and search the problem ROUTE folder for 200233.
You may come up with multiple hits but at least you should get a clue as to what is causing the problem.

I'm going to dig into this because I'm sure I've read something about this in the past. I too searched all the files for an error I deliberatly caused and yes, you ARE correct!
I could not find my error which was rigidbody 200008 for 1 car of a 3 car loose consist left hanging off the end of a siding.
