SLI releases set of 4750 cu. ft. covered hoppers

SLI has released a set of 4750 cu. ft. covered hoppers in six different liveries (BN, Chessie, CNW, IC, Seaboard, Soo Line). The price is $ 7.99.

The cars have the same shiny wheel treads as the other latest freight cars from SLI (since the tank car set).

I bought these and they're very nice. Couple things worth noting:

    1. These are $6.40 currently due to a 20% sale at SLI
    2. They're the same shape as the 4750 cu. ft. PS hoppers that came with the UP Notch Nose SD70M set. So you can update that UP hopper with the new wheel treads, as well as any repaints available here or at Trackside (such as the DME skins).

Just one quick note of clarification, because I didn't know if anyone would catch the differences between the two hopper cars. The models in the UP SD70M pack are actually based on the more modern Trinity 4750 hopper (early 1980's onward), which is derived from the Pullman Standard one. There is only one real noticable difference between the two are the shape and size of the car frame over top of each truck bolster.

Nice looking cars! Not trying to be too nit-picky, but being a huge Chessie fan, the number on the B&O model is closer to the HC-30 class, which is a PS 4427 cuft car (different number of ribs, different length, different features, ...different car, etc)

        The real 602922: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/sho...spx?id=2257108

The model however, is closer to the HC-32s, which were #'d 603700-603899. A simple change in the number were yield a closer representation of the real car.

Here is one of the HC-32s. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/sho....aspx?id=72411

        Just a thought...nice cars
