Could not install the AEM7 by NALW in MSTS

When I wanted to install the AEM7 by NALW in MSTS with the virus protection turned off, it showed:

    C:\Users\Gordon\AppData\Local\Temp\SETUP_22649\UnI nstall.exe
    File not found!
Correct the problem and run Setup once again.

    Computer operating syetem:
    Windows 7 (32bit)
    Nvidia GeForce 220
    4 GB RAM
    Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU

Did you also download and install the patch, necpac14.zip?

When you installed MSTS on your Windows 7 computer, did you follow these instructions:

          https://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showth...-or-64-bits-OS.

Although I do not run Windows 7, it is my understanding that if you install MSTS to the default directory and then try to install anything to MSTS after that, you must follow the correct procedures for giving yourself access and permissions (administrator, etc.) under Windows 7.

I don't understand why it would be trying to find anything named "Uninstall" to install a program though, unless you already had the set installed...

You should seek out an expert specifically knowledgeable about installing MSTS add-ons to a Windows 7 installation - read that thread above, it may give you some insights.

Have you thought about telling him How,because that is what he asked.

All I did was run the exe file, told it where my MSTS install folder was, and let it run.

But I also went through the steps in that link posted up there, and since I've never liked UAC I already had that turned off. Even had my anti-virus and anti-malware programs running. Don't know how much more detail I can give other than that.

Right, and that was the point of my question: Did he follow the posted instructions?

That, of course leads to the question of where he DID install it, if he had UAC disabled or had the correct permissions set up (I'm NOT the person to explain how to do it, my understanding was that that link gave some useful info about it).

Sitting back and reading the various problems folks seem to be having installing different things under Windows 7, it all seems to come back to this UAC issue. So when someone states a problem installing something in Win 7 that literally thousands of folks have had no problem with, it seems a logical conclusion that the primary Win 7 MSTS installation issue is a likely reason.

Are you sure the actual unit didn't install? From what I am reading, it sounds like the auto installer is sending the uninstall utility to to the wrong path (when NALW did the auto install setup, Vista64 and Windows7_64 were not on the radar). Try to see if the actual unit may be correctly installed, only the uninstall utility in the wrong place??

You might want to save the file to your disk.

The error message you are receiving leads me to think you didn't set the proper "Permissions" in the .exe file of NECPAK01.zip, and it is being told by your Win7 system that it does not have permission to access the "Temp" file where it was placed upon being RUN.

IF you did follow the Tutorial, and DO have Win7 installed properly, you could still get this type of error IF you do not continue the same method of installing updates/Add-Ons, as installing MSTS itself...You must set all the corect "Run as Administrator" and "Security" settings, etc. of the .exe (executable) files contained in Add-Ons BEFORE "Running" them.

Now, if you did NOT install MSTS by the method in either my Tutorial (which mestevet linked to) or by the method outlined by Yuri at Steam4Me, then you need to uninstall MSTS, clean your system of all MSTS remnants, and Reinstall using one of those two Methods.
