    " Default" Freightcar Sound Volume

Hi,..is there a way to increase the "default" freightcar sound volume,...the newer engines have "louder" sounds...after passing. then there is almost dead silence as the rest of the train passes-by, I have some freightcar 'sound' files' but they don't work or of they do..volume level is still 'low'....any ideas......Thanks!

Hi, Ron....thanks for the link...i checked it out and the info was helpful but since i have the latest MSbin installed...the changes that needed to be made to my 'sound data file' were done when i installed the 'MSbin' I did check the audio settings to see if they were set correctly,.and they were.....but i still get 'low' freightcar sounds, i'm not sure what to do now! ....Thanks for 'link' anyway. If you know of something else i could try just post it here.

        Tim,
The default freight cars use genfreightwag sms files to control sounds.
        Look in \Train Simulator\Sound\genfreightwag1.sms, genfreightwag2.sms and genfreightwag3.sms.

The volume can be adjusted in the SoundManagmentSystem files.
You can open and edit them with Wordpad. Backup before changing any files.

Perhaps your questions would be better answered in the Sound section of these forums?
