Both the 3DTrainStuff and Streamlines sets are worth purchasing. The attached picture shows the 3DTrainStuff model, locomotive 74, and the Streamlines model, locomotive 55.

I have both sets as well and will do what i always do when i have 2 different sets that are slightly different in size i keep each one seperate not using them together in one consist, that way in an act one set can meet and pass the other and because they are not in the same consist you do not really notice it. that way you can enjoy using both suppliers offerings as both are very good.

No one spoke of the sounds for the SLI set,to me they are pretty awesome.I can live with little inconsistantcies on the models,to me it's all about the sound.

This is definitely true. The all-important generator "whoop" is in there.

One must also remember, not ALL P42s make the whoop sound, not all GEs do either. Thats why some of my FDLs have it, some don't. But listening to their sounds, the sounds are spot on, the only thing that bugs me is the horn, but I like variety, so I took my ProtoQuill stream and dropped it in place of the default in the sms. Now it sounds like the engineer is having a hayday with the two stage horn button.

Well that sharply increases my respect for your sound sets now I have a deeper insight as to how you make them. The flood of repaints hasn't come yet...

You have no respect for anyones work around here do you?

There has been several repaints that I have noticed, but those people usually never release their work anyways.

FWIW we are in the midst of reviewing our repaint policy for our P42s

Smart move Brad, honestly, and I respect you alot, but it was a terrible decision for you to not allow repaints on an Amtrak set. Buisiness wise, smart, but only if you were to release different numbers, schemes and add them as "booster packs". But otherwise, its really losing the interest of people wanting to buy the pack just because they see a really good repaint of like say the Heritage units.

It appears as though now there are P40DC's and Superliner II's as well:

EDIT: Also, the Empire Builder set has been patched:

It adds the rear view mirrors and includes a new K5LA and bell, among other things.

Did these before the updated shape file, and haven't had time to convert them over though. Once I do, they will be available.

CSX4878 they came after the update.
Preference of 3DTS's P42s over SLI is nothing. The fact the sets come with Superliners gives me more incentive to buy them but I am sticking with 3DTS for my own repaints. Although I have bought SLI's Empire Builder and Southwest Chief sets for released skins done by others
