    r0 is coupler slack.

    Cheers

    Thanks. I changed my setting to match yours except for one. Do you know what r0 does? My rolling stock has many different numbers for this function, some as high as r0 (10cm 15cm).

    I use these figures and have no trouble,

    Coupling (
    Type ( Automatic )
    Spring (
    Stiffness ( 7.5e2N/m 4.4e6N/m )
    Damping ( 9e5N/m/s 4.2e6N/m/s )
    Break ( 1e8N 1e8N )
    r0 ( 6cm 6cm )
    )
    CouplingHasRigidConnection( 0 )
    Velocity ( 0.2m/s )
    )

    As follows
    Break 5.4e7N 5.4e7N
    Damping 5e6N/m/s 5e6N/m/s (overkill I think)
    DerailBufferForce 1000kN

    Not sure I understand your question? If you mean what settings do I use in MSTS, the answer is all sliders full right, everything on in display settings except no overhead wires, no specular lighting, and no high detail shadows.

    This is the only route where the broken couplers are a problem for me.

    This is the activity I have been running as well. I have broken couplers in several locations, both in dynamics and under power. I've tried different consists made up of different equipment with the same result.

    I also had this problem with an activity I created myself.

    I've never expereinced any breaks on the route. Where are they breaking at?

    Broken couplers on Horseshoe Route

    I am having a problem with coupler's breaking and ending activity on Austin Yoder's Horseshoe Curve route. I've made the typical changes to the coupler break, damping, and DerairBufferForce settings in all of my rolling stock but I still get broken couplers. It only happens on this route.

    Any suggestions?
