    bin update problems

Swapped computers. did msts bin update and widgets. cant get the night cab to work or swapping ends with locomotives and the sound doesnt sound as good as before i swapped it. Also not sure what i had on game in the past but if you hit F5 three times it pulled up a monitor that had all kind of info on it such as force and power as well as rpms and a lot of other info, cant get that to work.
any help would be appreciated. we have tried several different things and searched on here with no luck. even found some of my old post and used info ya'll have given us in the past and that didnt work.
    Thanks

Did you apply the 1.2 to 1.4 update before installing BIN? Did you install MSTS to a clean director via CD or did you restore from a USB or portable drive?
If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

MSTSBin can not be installed unless the 1.4 Train.exe is present in the Train Simulator folder.

Download and install this last version of MSTSBin which also supplies the correct train.exe used by it and a copy of the 1.4 version should it be required later:

Have you downloaded and installed my MSTSBin 1.8 master which does it all for you as it has done for others ?

                Winrar is what you need.

WinRAR is a Windows data compression tool that focuses on the RAR and ZIP data compression formats for all Windows users. Supports RAR, ZIP, CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZip, UUE, ISO, BZIP2, Z and 7-Zip

well thought it was resolved. seem to be having coupler issues. if i uncouple say to turn engines and try to recouple it will not couple up.
                    thanks again

                      The BIN issue is resolved.
Now you have bounding box problems.

What rolling stock, engine and wagon?

                      Cheers

im using 2 diesels west cw44ac southern pacific and a up c40 dash 8. not exactly sure bout rolling stock threw together a intermodal train. i think they were freeware. i might try swapping the cars around and see if the coupler issue is resolved. until then any more ideas appreciated.

In the Sim. press CTRL and NumPad + to display the bounding boxes. Any Bounding boxes that extend past the coupler will have to be adjusted so it's shorter.

                          Here's how:
Open up an SD file for the equipment with the too big box and look at the bounding box parameter.
It's easy to figure out which two are for the length. (they are the largest) And also easy to shorten by 0.5m or so.
Watch the sign of the numbers! Positive is forward of wagon center and '-' is rear of center.

That's what I do and I do it 'on the fly' so to speak.
                          Like this:
Pause the Sim, Alt+Tab to the desktop, Open the trainset folder, Modify the SD, Back to the Sim, Save Sim, Reload SIM and look at my changes ( ctrl and Nunpad + )
                          Enjoy!
