    Help With a MSTS Route

I installed a route called The "ACN" NYC Amsterdam NY Route and it isn't on the list when I want to drive a train. It had an installer and I installed it to the right location. Can someone help me please?

Does the route have paths? (Look in the Path folder). If not then it will not show in list of Routes. Solution: Create a path.

Quoting the Installation.txt: "Once the route is installed open the ACTIVITIES folder and double click on each "APK" file to install the consists."

      Did you do that?

I tried to open each package activity and it says: Failed to open package

          Hi Nick,

You don't open the packages, you just need to double click on them and say OK when it tells you it's installing stuff.

I do double-click on them and I get the message.

              Hi Nick,

How did you install the route? Are you using MSTS or something else like Open Rails?

Have you downloaded and installed tsunpack.zip? It's in the library here, just need to copy and paste the name into the search file field.

              Paul :-)

More important question: What OS? For TSunpack to work on Windows 7 The following Criteria MUST be met:
                1. MSTS path in registry must be pointed to the MSTS installation
                2. Installation must include UTILS folder containing TSUNPACK.EXE
                3. TSUNPACK.EXE in MUST be set to run as Administrator for ALL users
                4. APK extension files must be set to Open with TSUNPACK

Everyone is set up properly since I have Windows 7. It still gives me the error.

I assume that you have installed the tsunpack patch?

TSUNPAK has been the source of many problems in the past and I have frequently helped those who could not unpack activities with a trick of mine.

TSUNPACK does not need the full route to be installed in the MSTS pathed to by the Registry. From what I remember it only looks into a route folder of the correct name and then checks it's *.TRK file.

If what it is looking for is correct it then unpacks the APK into the otherwise empty route folder.

If you are really interested in these APK activities, rather than creating your own, I can do for you what I have done for Conductorchris in another thread.

                        Hi Charles,

Thanks, not having Windows 7 that issue slipped my mind.

                          Tsunpak

Remembered the trick I used ages ago to install APK activity files without actually having the route installed.

It has to be done in a copy of MSTS which is being pathed to by the REGISTRY.

                          Here is their ZIP: https://www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/msts-d...activities.zip

After un-zipping it into a temporary folder COPY it's Routes folder into the Train Simulator folder which must ask for permission to overwrite if done correctly !

Having given this post the subject title Tsunpak it should be easier to be searched for in future !
