    BNSF ES44DC missing shapes

I have just installed the BNSF releasable pack with H2 and H3 ES44DC's, and apparently, there are missing shape files, even though I copied the 5726 shape, and renamed them exactly. I even installed the fix. Can anyone help? They were 7639, and 7312. This also happened to Luke Lohrmeyer's Heritage units of Amtrak.

Unbeliveable!! What's the matter with you?

You ask for help and then fail to respond to the people trying to help you? Why'd you ask for help?

Derek asked for Details Details Details and you respond with "those genesis remain a mystery" ???!!! Wow! That's serious detail . . . NOT!!

If you won't assist those trying to help you then please . . . don't ask for help!

Hey Vince, he probably read the instructions after posting. Seems to be the pattern of late. There's about a half dozen of these "noobs" that seem to have lost common sense and good judgement when it comes to this "HELP" thing. Its the "instant gratification, I'm lazy, someone will give me what I need and I don't have to expend any effort or exhibit good spelling" syndrome..Good news though...there is a cure: Ignore their desperate "pleas" for help and goofball route reviews, sit here in the Lazy-Boy with an ice cold beer and my lap-top, (its 110 out) run my ERROR-FREE copy of MSTS (last installed 4 years ago) and laugh at them because I'm not helping them ANYMORE!

Helping those kinds, both online and off, is like trying to teach a pig to sing. All you do is waste your time and you annoy the pig.

Enjoy a cold one for me Frank, as I cannot consume alcohol, due to blood sugar issues.

In the defense of the original poster, I had a ton of problems with that same pack. Knowing what I know about MSTS files I got it all lined out but to a noob, I'm certain it would be frustrating. I'm happy that I took the time to learn that stuff so I rarely have to ask for help. To the noobs: take the time to learn why common errors occur. There is a wealth of knowledge on these forums if you take the time to weed out the junk.... This game will become much more rewarding if you do!

The 7639 is fixed. 7312 still is causing the CE to crash. The error message says:
                  "Failed to open shape file
Trains/Trainset/BNSF_ES44DC_7312_H3/BNSF_ES44AC_7312_H3.s", even when the shape said DC on it.

Pssst.....It appears from your post above, the ENG file for 7312 is calling for "BNSF_ES44DC_7312_H3/BNSF_ES44AC_7312_H3.s"....obviously someone wasn't paying attention when they were editing ENG. files? (You have an ES44AC shapefile of the same number in an ES44DC unit's folder...doesn't that set off an alarm in your head?) Either edit the ENG file's shape entry to match the shape, or visa-versa..pretty simple, really...The sd file calls for "BNSF_ES44DC_7212.s" The ENG file is in ERROR, as is the SD file....fix them and your problem goes away..

On a more general note, you want the shape name to match what is inside the .sd file. Also, you want the .sd file to match what is listed in the "Shape" line in the .eng file. If they all say the same thing, even better!
IIRC, you may have some trouble with freight animation shapes not being found on a couple of the units. Like I said before, this set was a bear to troubleshoot, but it looks good when it works. The "check rolling stock" feature of Route Riter will help track down which units still need work without the trial & error of crashing MSTS.
