But on a lighter note, the ES44DC looks good just hope the cab and sounds are more accurate and not recycled from the C45s.

Anthony,
Don't take it personally, I don't think it was meant as a rub.
I like your GEVO sounds, and use them. But, like all quality engine sounds for MSTS, I have not found one that captures every aspect and nuance of a "real life" sound, in every notch or condition.
It is not, in my opinion, the lack of effort on the part of the creators of the sound packs, but maybe a limitation in converting "real life" complex sounds into the available formats, or, the creators focus on a sound type that may provide "more of this stuff, and less of this stuff".
A for instance - I like and use your FDL sound pack. But, I can't hear that distinctive chug on the Dash9's or AC4400CW's like I can with say, Hugh Riley's sounds - which really emphasize the chug quite well. But, your pack has a much broader offering of the overall atmosphere.
This is why two people can put the same sound pack, and they can sound quite different.Last edited by qballbandit; 09-10-2012, 09:00.Neil

With the sound limitations in MSTS, it would be hard to re create every sound aspect that comes from a GEVO. Since I am a loco engineer, I recorded every notch from both inside and outside of the cab of a GEVO. When I tried it in MSTS, it kept crashing. I had a different set of sounds for inside and outside of the cab. I then tried it with someone elses sounds and it worked fine. So I think that it would be a big issue to get every sound.

Very true. When i record locomotives I have them load tested to best emulate the sound they make when pulling, bad like you said, its really hard to recreate in every case.
Now that I've moved on to railworks, the limitations are quite seriously gone. I seriously encourage any of you that have Railworks to get the new Sherman Hill.Last edited by BNSFfan; 09-12-2012, 21:51.
