    SWREG / Streamlines

Maybe you should contact your ISP, since obviously, that's where the problem is occurring. Or on your own computer. I'm not sure what the issue is, but obviously, it's not Streamline's fault.

I contacted SWREG and they gave me the usual info about firewall, virus programs and such. I have tried everything. I started a support ticket at Streamlines and have added 4 messages to it. SWREG said they also have contacted Streamlines for me. I have NOT heard back from either of them. I have since requested that my order be cancelled. I am about to contact my Credit Card company and stop payment. I have purchased all of the earlier Streamline routes as well as numerous train packs from Streamlines. I have sent email to both the support line and the corporate line. Still no response. How disappointed. I am with Streamlines.

Where has the simple customer service disappeared to. Maybe it is time to just move on from the Train Sim hobby and find another.

SWREG has now informed me that the only way to have the charge credited back is to have Streamlines approve the refund. I will be surprised if that occurs, since Streamlines has not even had the courtesy to respond to my issues in over three days.
There are members here in the TS com site as they will read this.. But, Robert may be right.. you might have something thats cutting off your Internet. Make sure you have Zone Alarm set off. Zone Alarm is one of the biggest pain in the butt tools to use since it blocks every Internet that thinks its a threat to your PC.

If you still have the link from SWREG, try to download it on the other computer like another family member or such and get a USB memory stick and transfer the file there. If it works successfully, then you will know its the security settings on your Internet. Try that out..You will get someone from SLI will send you an PM.. (if they can read your title)

      Guys,

I have never had an issue with any of my downloads. My issue is the fact that I have contacted Streamlines over three times since Saturday and have yet to hear anything back from them. I sent notes to both their support site and to their Corporate line.

      Common courtesy should apply!

Thats interesting to hear Geepster.. Thats the first.. I think it also may have to do with the holiday Internet ordering crunch.. SWREG is a big company that handles almost a lot of orders, just not "only" SLI...but many others as well..

        Thank you for clarifying..

The only problem I ever had, was one time I did not receive the download links. I received the confirmation of purchase, and contacted swreg and they resent download links. As for downloads, never have had a problem that was the fault of swreg in regards to downloads cutting off. It definately sounds like an issue at your linkup and your computer, so would do as was suggested above in regards to downloading if you cant figure out what is happening on your end. I just bought both new releases this weekend with no hitch and used my samsung s3 to download them even.

I am a bit surprised that you have had no response from SWREG. A freind of mine had the same problem, used the SWREG reprting system to explain the problem, and got the download link reactivated within 24 hours.

Bad analogy. If a company uses a shipper that continually has delivery problems, and the product gets messed up or lost, it it the companys problem and they take the heat as well as the shipper. First thing that is usually done is to find another company to do business with. Kills 2 birds with one stone.

                    Jason,

FYI: I am using Firfox, I had all my setting turned off (Firewall, etcand I now have run out of download attempts again. I have never been able to get past 50mb download. After being frustrated over this for the past number of days, I am through. Please credit my charge back and I will not bother you again. I have never had any issues with any other payware vendors. I have a exceptionally large collection of MSTS and Flight Sim 9 ad-dons, and for some reason SWREG gives me issues. Since posting my issues on the Train Sim forum it seems that a number of others also are having the same issue with the downloads.

Jason, honestly what bothers me more than anything is how long it took for someone to respond. I know we all have real life issues, but even a simple "Scott, Streamlines is swamped right now, please be patient" would have been better than hearing nothing for days. I will update my post on Train Sim Forum to reflect that I have chosen to just request a refund due to being unable to download the product. I will also mention that you did eventually contact me.

As stated in my email to the corporate address, please just remove my name from the mailing list as I will not be purchasing products here.

There is no hard feelings over this issue, only disappointment over the lack of, and timeliness of Streamlines customer service.

I wish you a very Happy Holiday Season.

                    My best,

I agree. I spent a number of years managing a business where we used subcontractors. If the subcontractor screws up, it is the responsibility of the company that hires them to get the problem resolved. After all, it wasn't the customer that hired SWREG, it was Streamlines. Part of the problem, no doubt, is because SWREG is a huge software download service and Streamlines is just one small vendor to them--so Streamlines probably has little "leverage" to get SWREG to straighten up its act. Fortunately, with all of the products that I've bought from Streamlines, I've only had the one issue with a download from them, which SWREG resolved for me fairly quickly--likely in part because I sent a direct e-mail to SWREG explaining that it obviously was their end that was causing my download to fail.

Have you thought of asking for the route in CD so they can mail it to you instead of download? Just a thought.

I hate to say it, but streamlines slow email response is also pretty well document here in many previous posts. Nothing new there.

Bad analogy? I don't think so. Is there really a problem with SWREG? They host content for many more than just streamlines. There has been maybe 10 posts covering issues with downloading throught hem. Considering how big SWREG's customer list is that's a very small, almost insignifcant number that points towards customer side problems.

Quickly googing SWREG download problems brings up little if anything regarding problems. In fact one of the many bash streamlines / SWREG sucks threads is the 8th choice in the list. There isn't much there screaming how SWREG is bad. So wehre is the hundreds of complaints against SWREG? THe few complaints I can find point to user problems with wrong browser settings, firewalls and anti-virus programs blocking DL's.

My anology stands. No delivery service be it phsyical or digital is perfect, hiccups do occur.

I will say this and no I'm not bashing the OP here in any way.

User here are hyper sensitive. The grade of service exected from small vendors by the user base here just astounds me sometime. Look at all these threads bashing streamlines and DW. The expectations far exceed the product being offered here time after time.

I don't know why the Mods even allow postings regarding the customer service methods user or not used by these small companies anymore. These threads solve nothing and degenerate in a poo flinging episode.

There are too many different browsers involved, and ordering was flawless for the same people many times previous. I simply can't point the finger at the user or their PC or their browser.

Personally, I think Digital Rails did it better. The (pretty much useless without a keycode) product was available for download without restrictions, and you bought only the activation key through SWREG. There was no downloading of actual product from SWREG involved.
