      Christopher,
I tried to get MSTS car and engine providers to accept and use a set of standard naming abbreviations years ago, but that went over like a lead balloon. We users are still at the need to either add a Name line in many cases or to make changes to the Name line in the .eng and .wag files so that when we use Route_Riter, Conbuilder, or even manually make a consist we can have some kind of order from which to be able to pick and choose. But, to use the Wagon line to identify rolling stock from which to choose will be a waste of time. I would not use such a method if that is how it works.

I am trying to install and use the latest update to your program (6919) on a Windows 10, 64 bit OS using the setup system from Trains4me and using Mini Routes. I have the main MSTS installation in the folder: C:\1MSTS and then all of the Mini Routes are installed into sub folders under C:\MSTS MINI ROUTES\WP MINI ROUTE\Train Simulator\Folders...\folders...

I am just showing the path for the Western Pacific (WP) Mini Route. I have other Mini Route installations for ATSF, UP, SP, DRGW and so forth.

When I run the TSRE5 install/execute file it takes me to a Window that should allow me to set the path to where the Routes and Global Folders are located. However, when I run the Browse command to locate where my Routes and Global folders are located it shows nothing and gives me all kinds of errors. I am not sure if that is because I am running the TSRE5 install from folders on a different (external) hard drive than where the Train Simulator files are located or what.

        I have the following questions:
        1. Do you have the program set up so that you can move from one Train Simulator set up to another, such as Mini Routes?
        2. Can you have your program on one hard drive and the Train Simulator set up to be on another hard drive?

Thanks, I look forward to using your program as I can see great benefits from what I have seen so far.

Just what I was looking for too.... BUT I'm getting 404's on the Consist instructions

To clarify that the section on Consists on that page gives 404's but right at the bottom the link to Elvas Tower Instructions is working.

Could those posts not be shared here for those who don't have access to ET?

There's no reason anymore for people not to have access to ET. Access to the Open Rails sections was opened up for new membership in the last couple weeks. Topics around Goku's editors can be found under Open Rails Contributed Software.
If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

Download 0.69 ZIP version. EXE files are only an update.

                      New version: http://koniec.org/tsre5/data/TSRE5_v0.6953.exe

                      0.6953

                      - new Replace menu. Now you can replace units in consists easily. Just select consist unit, then find new unit in ENG list and use one of the replace functions.

Terrific. I do this all the time and this will make it easier. Thank you. I'm downloading as I write and will test it in due course.

Do I need to run Train Store to use the consist editor?

I have tried to run the editor to start using it. I have very many consists in my un-stored "consists" folder and it appears to need to read all of these in some way before it will load. This is not practical.

I hope I am wrong. Can someone please clarify the situation.

Thanks. So, for a large install, Train Store or a similar utility must be used.
