That being said, and this is purely speculative, but it could be DW is going to be providing the equipment either in conjunction with or instead of SLI/TS ...More Autoracks are coming as well as a UP AC6000W. Not to mention they already make a bunch of UP painted locomotives: SD40-2, SD60M, SD90/SD9043s, SD50s, AC44s, ES44s, etc......

Streamlines "died" about a year ago. They are now called TrainSimulations. They have released a few products since then, a couple of them were released only a week apart. As kknobl noted, they go through dry spells. That seems to be what they are in now. Nothing out of the ordinary going on with them.Yardmaster of the Great American Moose Paint Shops.

Point of order... there are a couple businesses serving the community who've changed names.
That isn't anywhere near the same as dying.If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

But why, when you have an established name, would you change it?
And...having made the decision to do so, why not advertise same in these very pages?
I don't recall reading anything at all about Streamlines changing to TrainSimulations.IBM XT i386; 512Kb RAM; 5.25" FDD; 1.4Mb FDD; 5Mb HDD; VGA 256-colour graphics card; AdLib soundcard; DR DOS 6.0; Windows 3.0

Probably re-invented and re-branded to take advantage of some government help towards the hosting fees. Other vendors have done the same recently.
I would do it, too. After all, fewer and fewer buyers remain after each new sim platform emerges. And the few who are left always seem to be broke. Meaning, they didn't move on because of new platform costs.My Open Rails videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClc...1kBPO2A/videos

I would imagine they changed the name to take advantage of the when people search Train Simulations. Would most likely be the first site to show up.Tigertrains.com

Hey gents, as long as we're on the subject of SLI/TrainSimulations, I have an unrelated question. I bought the SLI UP Feather River upgrade right when it first came out. Now I see that the one that TS is selling now is suitable for Open Rails. What exactly is the difference? I've tried several times to send them a question but the site won't accept a "contact us".
Do I have to buy this again in order to get the OR "updates", or will the old version I have work the same. That's a lot of money to shell out just for a few file mods.Larry Steiner

One would have to own both sets to really see what makes them "Open Rails" ready. Since their description states that Open Rails or MSTS with Bin are required and they have not specifically touted any OR features such as 3dCabs, OR physics in ENG files, dds textures, multiple Freight Animations, etc., I really doubt that much has changed from the set you bought except for the three OR only activities.
If someone does own this set, would you please answer these questions:
1. Do the Folders containing the locomotives' ENG files contain:
===a. A Open Rails folder?
===b. A CabView3D folder?
2. Do the Folders containing any of the rolling stock have DDS files?Charles

1a - no
1b - no
2 - yes
They gave you some open rails-only activities and some DDS textures and called it compatible for both.
As for the feather river pack, the value is not in the locos, but rather the rolling stock. There were 96 shapes in that pack. Who else sells 96 shapes for less than $25 and which can be had for $15 on sale? If people worked half as hard at buying things when on sale than as they currently do explaining reasons not to, imagine how much father they would be.
I'm becoming a big fan of buying these large packs, rather than the $15 packs all the time. It took awhile to build, and cost $10 more than the usual smaller pack, but the selection was awesome and there were very few errors for that price. I have no problem with the dry spells provided its always as good and generous as the FR pack was.
I do think they are working on a route for Open Rails, anybody who is on ET can see Jason's occasional questions to the OR dev team. But that's not to say OR subfolders or 3D cabs will be there in any initial OR-only packs. I see those features getting worked in gradually.
Larry, if you paid for it once, no need to buy it again. Their stuff for the last 3 years has been 'suitable', provided you make the same OR physics tweaks if you are one who has left MSTS behind.My Open Rails videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClc...1kBPO2A/videos

BTW they did not give you the Open Rails only activities. It cost $25 (or $15) to get them. I guess you believe the motels give you a free breakfast.Charles
