Pretty much every modern version of windows has a screenshot function built in - without any need for a 'tool'.
Just hold down the windows key and hit PRNT SCRN key. Inside or outside of game, screenshot goes to your C:\Pictues\Screenshots folder.
True, BUT Snipping Tool can copy a portion of the screen which is very helpful when all one needs to copy is a small portion of a menu or just a portion of the sim so that the main object is visiable in a smaller frame. Plus it saves to JPG rather than PNG format,
Hey again, i've tried installing it again, ( NECV4 ) and guess what happend? it failed, i did what it said ( i guess ) but the route doesn't appear. There's definelly something i'm missing. I think i need a literall video on how to install'it.
Screen Shots How to needs updating: Win10 &11 have an app named Snipping Tool. With it one can take full or partial screen shots. Save to JPG and upload to TS. Just press the Keyboard Windows key and type "snip" and the app will be listed.
And RTFM means read the FINE manual. At least that was what I was told when I was in the Army.
Charles you just taught an old dog a new trick, I have never tried that one Thanks!

The NECv4 should create its own directory under your Routes folder, and then executes a batch file to execute. If that's not working, you probably don't have the original routes installed. That's a prerequisite for older routes. Newer routes don't reuse the MSTS objects.
For equipment packs, there should be .CON files to go into your Trains/Consists folder, and a folder with the shapes and textures to go into your Trains/Trainset folder.
If you're having trouble, try including screenshots of where your errors are happening.
MSTS is like a box of Legos with minimal instructions... it might take some trial and error.
x_refrige.sms this message appears quite often. What's about?
That file SHOULD have been installed when you installed MSTS. The MSTS installer places it in the folder ....\Train Simulator\Sound where it can be used by any refrigator wagon installed in your Trainset.
Considering your original post in this thread and now this post above, I recommend that you reinstall MSTS from the CDs. If you have installed MSTS bin, you will also have to reinstall it.
