RUDY : Maybe you've not removed line 628. As Derek pointed out, that sets MaxPower as 601 watts; it overrides the previous MaxPower line which sets it at 246 kilowatts.

I will look at the lines. I uploaded the entire package in a zip file right under your fixed eng file on here. We placed the sounds in the M290 sounds folder not in the common folder. I am pretty sure they are referenced correctly but maybie I missed something.

Glad to help, but I can't do anything about the sounds (because I don't have them!).

I only tested in MSTS to ensure the .eng file was valid, syntactally.

It only runs very slowly at full throttle in Open Rails, even though the Engine and Train brakes are released, but I found there are two 'MaxPower' entries, on line 547 - MaxPower ( 246kW ) and line 628 - MaxPower ( 601 ). By removing line 628, the loco runs better in OR, but only you'll know if it's right (or not) !!

Thanks again, if you are up to it, I also posted the issues. The biggest is it won't move. Not sure if that is a friction issue.

Slipperman you are my hero!!!!! I owe you huge. I have spent hours on this thing trying to figure out where the problem is. Now I have two more issue with this file.

1. No errors but the train does not move even on full throttle and direction

2. My sounds are not working. In the package, I have the sounds inside the sound folder located in the Strela folder, not in the common folder. I lowered the quality to 8,000 but could never get the sounds to work...or work right.

3. Where does MSTS pull the description of the train?

Hi,
I've applied the following fixes to your file :
A. Line 357 - 'State' should be 'States'
B. Line 456 - requires a close bracket - ')'
C. There are two 'Cabview' entries on lines 564 and 626 - I've commented out the one on line 564
D. Line 593 - invalid comment line - replaced quotes ("") with open and close brackets.
E. Line 855 - close bracket not required - removed.

I 'transplanted' your .eng file into my default Class50 and it runs OK.

I note there are two Inside View entries, but MSTS doesn't seem to complain so I've left them!

I've given the file a different name so you can compare it with your original.

Update: Thanks for all of the help yesterday but, now I am stuck with an error on line 368. I assume there is no tool that can help with brackets or to troubleshoot the .eng file? If anyone can spot what the issue is. Line 368 is a bracket. To me it looks like it is where it should be. Please help.

actually I found a double bracket and now something is out of line because it says 994...which does not exist

I made all the changes now just stuck on line 368.
