Hello All,
Sorry for being so quet the last few months. The project is going well but, I have 4 items before we can consider the Strela ready for release.
1. The speedometers
Is there other ways to build in the cab besides the builder included in the game? With the games lower resolution and the fact that the control panel guages are flat makes it very hard to read the speedometer. I am wondering if there is anything that we can do to the guage to make it more readable from the flat angle? Any tips for building a speedometer?
2. Brake guage
I also need help building the brake guage. Any help would be awesome on how to construct a working brake guage.
3 Light idicators to turn on.
Is there any way to make it where light indicators would come on when the lever is in forward position and another lights to come on when it is in reverse?
4. We built an easter egg into the game. We linked the doors to the "P"pantograph button. The front door works but when you open the other door it crashes the game.
This is a great group and I cannot say thank-you enough. I am looking forward to rounds of testing once this is done.

Hi Rudi,
Sorry, I can't help with cabview details, but I'm sure somebody else will be able to.
I have deleted my revised lights attachment from my 14 April post. They are now modified to show the same rear red lights if DIM or BRIGHT is selected.
The complete Lights section of the .eng file should be replaced by that unpacked from the attached file. Note that this Lights section will only work in MSTS if the MSTS Bin Patch is already installed. It will work correctly in Open Rails without any additional files.
The new version is attached below.
Cheers,
Ged

Ok let me get rid of the frequency curve. As far as the frequency itself, I am not an audio guy but when I created the sound files it was suggested to bring them down. I still have the original ones that I made from youtube clips. I thought that the MSTS had some sort of a limit. I am not getting much help on the museum side of the Strela. I would assume that the half and full lights on the front would have no effect on the brightness of the read red lights. Is there some area to get help building the speedometers and the brake gauges?

Hi Rudi,
Thanks for your reply
I'll take your points in turn :
1. Although your in-cab .wav files are stereo, the frequency (8000Hz) is almost 26% lower than the MSTS default of 11025hz; This may have some effect.
As mentioned before, removing the FrequencyCurve section makes it sound a lot more like that heard in the external view.
2. I don't know what light you're referring to. Do you want the rear red lights to be the same colour irrespective of whether 'Dim' or 'Full' is selected, or should they be brighter when 'Full' is selected? (That is not usual, but could apply for this vehicle).
There is no facility in MSTS to select lights depending on the position of the reverser. You can only change them using the Cab Switch routine included in the Bin Patch - see 4.
3. I hope you won your race and found the baddies guilty!
4. For Cab Switching, Pesky needs to install the MSTS Bin Patch, BUT before doing so, he MUST install the MSTS Web update.
Although Eric has created a tutorial "How to correctly install MSTS in Windows 10" he has, unfortunately omitted links to either!
I did, eventually, find both, but they were very difficult to locate! May I suggest to Eric that they are both moved into their own group, eg MSTS Updates, for easier location, especially for those who don't have their file IDs?
The final version of the MSTS Bin Patch is available from this site as file ID 86097. If you have any problems with this one, the previous version is at file ID 86094. The MSTS Web Update is available as file ID 88043. If you don't already have MSTS v1.2, you should also install the Class 50 and SD40-2 updates - if you're not sure, installing both won't hurt!.

I will be looking at the notes and the frequency thing. We tested a song file in its olace and it played faster than it should. I think thus may fix some issues. The strela horn should sound like it does in passanger view or pretty much playing the horn sounds right I. The folder and not the game.
The light I would assume should change color when in either dim or bright I would think..the direction should be elected by which way the reverser is pointing.
It's been a busy weekend with the car race and I have jury duty this morning in court....so no work for Rudy this week. I hope to be done with court so me and Pesky Dingo can spend some time adjusting this model.
By the way pesky has the bare game..no updates so for him the reverse cab does not work and lights may not work..whY update does he need?

Hi Rudi,
Thanks, but you still need to apply the revised lights section and Sound changes detailed in my last post.
Depending on your response regarding the rear red lights, a change may need applying to my Revised Lights section.
Cheers,
Ged

Hi Rudi,
Thanks for the updated files.
I was going to report the positions of the exhaust stacks, but you beat me to it
LIGHTS - Sorry, but these are not right.
I have replaced them with those I posted earlier and they appear to be better, particularly when using the switched cab.
I have one question - when should the rear red lights be illuminated? (a) at all times, (b) when lights are set to BRIGHT or (c) when lights are set to DIM and BRIGHT.
In my Lights section it's (b) but it's very easy to change.
SOUNDS
If the FrequencyCurve section is removed from the Horn (Trigger 8) stream in M290strelacab.sms, the horn sounds the same as it does in the external view.
There is a delay after the SpaceBar is pressed before the horn sounds, which is probably because 'PlayOneShot' is used instead of 'StartLoopRelease'. If the latter is used, then a second trigger should be added to the Stream - Discrete_Trigger ( 9 ReleaseLoopReleaseWithJump () )
f have no doubt the above will also apply to the Bell (Trigger 10) stream - in this case, Trigger 11 should be added..
Cheers,

I did see one issue, the smoke stacks were moved and now they are back above the bathroom so that has to be fixed.

Ok, sorry for the long pause, here is the latest, and all that we have done. I guess the biggest thing is look it over on the changes and to see what we missed or if anything got changed back. The number one headache is the sound. If I could gain get the details and or the actual fix to make the sounds work. I appriciate all of your hard work!

That last update we did had had an old ENG setup. The new one now utilizes the newer ENG. As well as the updated SMS files. We will upload it soon. I am currently working on the side views. trying to make it look better than what we had. These views will replace the Kiha views I had sitting in the CVF file.

I replaced the .eng file with that uploaded by Sam on 13 April 2024 and checked the list of proposed modifications. Five have not been applied and different .sms files have been used.
Would it be possible for you to upload the latest version of the CSD_M290_Slovenska_Strela folder containing the revised .eng, .cvf and .sms files, please?
