Are you using Open Rails simulator....or the legacy MSTS simulator? If Open Rails please re-post in the Open Rails Discussion forum and I will delete this one. Thanks, Moderator

Also if running OR please attach log file -- usually found on Desktop
    Cheers, Gerry

What route? Some routes have next to no scenery and others have a lot, makes a difference.

The Important specification is your disk drive. SSD or HD? If HD that is your problem.

I disagree. My trainsim sits on an HDD and my FPS if unlocked run into the hundreds. I am also using an old machine with DDR3 memory and an old 1050Ti graphics card. I think my i5 is second or third generation.

Are you using a Laptop or Desktop? The OP says he is using a Laptop. Speed is the first factor in the differences in Laptop and Desktop HDDs. 5400rpm vs 7200rpm.

If it's a laptop, make sure your GPU is actually selected for OpenRails... it might be selecting the integrated chipset instead, which will give crappy FPS performance.
If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

Make sure you don't have 'dynamic shadows' ticked in options - That can be a bit of an fps killer on lower spec machines..

ARK 003, I'm assuming since you did not respond to my post # 2 that this is MSTS you are running .... you've never specified which simulator you are using....first it's unresponsive and second it's just plain rude to impede those trying to help you by not providing what information they ask for. They are taking their time to reply....POST THE LOG, if it is Open Rails.

If you don't know how to post the log, just ask. We've all been there.
