    Ed's Trains Online Down?

    Hi all,

Been a member here for awhile but new to posting in the forums. I was wondering if anybody had any info on the status of Ed's Trains Online? Been eyeing a few of his locomotive sets for awhile but found the site down when I went to visit it yesterday and found it was still down today.

As far as I am aware he is affiliated with Toronto Mainline Trains, but the rest of their sites appear to be up. Was just wondering if anybody had any insight.

    Carter

P.S. I'm not very forum-savvy so I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place.

Ya what now??? No Ed did not move his stuff to my site. He couldn't afford the hosting fees so currently it is in limbo. Eric was in talks with him to get some items hosted on Trainsim Forum.

I'd reached out to Ed but he never responded.
If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

Ah darn, sorry to hear that. Guess I procrastinated too long in getting those locomotive sets. I'll be honest I know nothing of web hosting or the costs/work involved in it but I'd be more than happy to donate if it means keeping the website up for a bit longer. Obviously I don't know Ed's wishes regarding the matter or if he even wants the site back up, but I'll leave the offer open.

I just hate to see more payware content for MSOR become unavailable, but I guess for a platform that's over 20 years old, it's to be expected since the majority of the player base has probably moved on.

Thanks for clarifying - to a novice (ie myself) I always assumed all the "Associated Companies" linked on Torontomainlinetrains were all somehow interconnected, Especially since the sites all look the same and appear to use the same web software. It's good to know that these were all separate entities.

That's two items out of around 50 plus, Charles.

Fortunately, another 20 or 30 items that were on Ed's site for BLW are also available on the BLW site if you look hard enough.

Charles, the BNSF ore train was a collaboration of Ed & myself back in 2014, and the Wheeling set was back in 2007.
