1 mph over speed limit causes derailment?

I have a few routes in which my train will derail if I go merely 1 mph over the speed limit. Is there an easy way to adjust this? Is it a function of the route or the locomotive/rolling stock?

I'm curious about this because of the zero speed limit bug in the latest version of BIN. On some routes where this happens, I can happily continue my activity at a normal speed (even though the track monitor says the speed limit is zero). On others, my train will promptly derail when I reach 0.6 mph.

    Thanks.

For what it's worth, I'll second this. I have never had any faith in MSTS's ability to decide when a derailment is appropriate so I turned this option off about five years ago and haven't looked back.
