I won't be installing it anytime soon and I suggest you don't either. The list of downloads is way too long and even with Conbuilder, it would take hours to switch everything out. Also, his activities never work because nobody beta tests the final activity, including him. He just adds a ton of AI traffic and uploads the activity; doesn't even look at it in the activity editor.

It just seems like he doesn't care, which is why I stay away from his stuff.

My suggestion is to stay away from anything associated with the creator. I personally think ALL his stuff should be removed from library until he COMPLETELY fixes everything. It's hard to recover from a bad first impression. Especially when you are continually advised how to do things and totally disregard the advice. Evidently that guy is a little kid or a big kid with a little kid's mentality.

I personally stay away from any activity that requires more than five or six additional downloads, unless it received rave reviews, then I might consider it.

I understand the feelings, I put in a lot of time on Across the Rockies and it does not work, but the guy has put in so much effort I want to give him a fair go.

          regards

He has admitted by his own words that he didn't put a lot of effort into some of his work.

Why does it figure it's this kid? How many times does he have to be told he's doing something wrong before he gets the point? Go take a look at his thread in the Screenshot section about his "updates" For Marias 3.1. God Free... I think the default was better.

I THINK that this run works, only I haven't been able to get past Java East because of breaking a coupler there!

Best just leaving his work alone, only trouble comes from it.

"Quote: I THINK that this run works......"

I'm glad the world doesn't use this method. Could you imagine getting a set of engines for a mountain run and the roundhouse dude says "I think the dynamic brakes work". I never bash another man's work here or anywhere but releasing a pandora's box to the community in route upgrades and then activities without even running them to see if they work is bad form. You should be ashamed. All items from this uploader needs to be removed from the F-L to prevent others from wasting their time with proven product failures from a creator that does not check his own work.

Hi; Other than taking about 3 hours to swap out or rebuild consists, the activity runs fine, but got broken couplers at Java. This a route problem not an activity problem. The only thing I would change about the activity is to reduce the Animal and People settings. The author of the route did not animate the hitchhiker and I hit three of them before I got to Java. I think some people should cut Donald some slack as his activities are getting better. The AI traffic is varied and interesting. I've seen worse by other authors. Cheers; Chuck F.

No, I think the hitchhikers aren't animated in any route. I've seen that same model on other routes! At least the AI traffic looks good and quite interesting. If you need to fix broken couplers, visit this tutorial: http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trai...ips.html#tip12. It can tell you how to make the couplers behave the way they should.

If you are planning to release something to the community, there is absolutely no excuse for not having several others beta-test it first. Doesn't matter what it is...rolling stock, activities, routes (including upgrades and other mods). You can't possibly make "universal" content that will run on everyone's system the same way, Getting info from several testers ahead of release can give you the required information to possibly rectify any of these things before release. Then we don't have to suffer through these long, complaint threads that always end up in "bashing " sessions instead of actually dealing with problems. Donald doesn't need any slack, just encouragement to get his stuff tested before release.

Hi; With regards to the Hitchhiker, what I was really getting at was that in Marias Pass 3.1, the Hitchhiker is placed on the roadbed with no animation. There is an animated version, but it might be pay-ware. If it is on the roadbed it should be animated, or else put off to the side, like a train spotter. Thanks, Donald for the link for the coupler fix. Some of the new cars I had d/led must not have had the right coupler values. Cheers; Chuck F.
