    MSTS bin

So I saw judging by posts that I would need MSTS bin for addons to work on MSTS properly. I tried to install it, but I am consistently getting the error that it cannot be place where my game and it needs a train.exe location. Even if I were to type train.exe on the location where my game is at, it still does not work. I really want it, so I can install content without errors. I have had so many problems with my train simulators lately first railworks and the temp dump error and now this with MSTS

    Please help!

    Thanks

    Hi trainman2002,
    Welcome to the Forum.
First of all, ensure that you've installed MSTS correctly, for any OS from Win 7 onwards!
    1. Follow ALL the Steam4Me instructions to install MSTS from its CDs - https://msts.steam4me.net/tutorials/...sts_win10.html
    2. Following the above instructions, do NOT omit the v1.4 Web update because MSTS Bin will not install without it. Follow its specific instructions.
    3. I assume you have already downloaded MSTS Bin so now you should be able to install it successfully.

    Cheers,
    Ged

First things first....install MSTS as directed by the above site. Then tackle the MSTS Bin installation...or better yet...

      try this simulator >>>> http://openrails.org/

      There's a free OR starter route here >>> https://www.trainsimulations.net/starter

I do have openrails. But some stuff I downloaded like the Conrail indy line are missing a ton of textures and some trainsets I downloaded are missing. I figure if I install MSTSbin the stuff will work properly.

MSTSBin has nothing to do with Open Rails ... it was an ingenious hack on the MSTS executable that expanded the capabilities of MSTS only. The texture problems and missing equipment you are experiencing require other solutions. You will need to provide the forum with specific details to get more help.

When using Open Rails be sure to check the 'Logging' checkbox on the OR opening screen.

A text file named OpenRailsLog.txt will be placed on your desktop.
This file is overwritten each time you run Open Rails so only the last run is logged.

Attaching this file to your post will help us and you to get the problem fixed.

There's a good chance all your missing textures will be listed in the log thus enabling you to search for them on your machine.
