    SD70ACe and SD70M-2 repaint project

    Hi, guys!

I have recently started a new repaint project, with the aim of creating several SD70ACe and SD70M-2 locomotives for the ORTS.

I currently have four different versions that I am planning to release, with the work on the first one on the list almost finished:

    - Providence & Worcester SD70M-2 in the original brown and red paint scheme

    - Providence & Worcester SD70M-2 in the newer, Genesee and Wyoming paint scheme

    - Vermont Railway SD70M-2

    - Union Pacific SD70ACe "Powered by our People" unit

The base model I am currently using is the SD70ACe from the Mullan Pass route. I am, however, planning to buy their NS Heritage set, as these locomotives have headlights above the windshield, so I will then determine the most appropriate model for each of the locomotives.

While there are going to be some discrepancies between the appearance of the real models and their digital counterparts, I believe the overall result will be more than satisfying (just like with my AC44C6M repaints).

The work on the P&W has been almost finished and I am going to show you some screenshots later today, or tomorrow.

Hi Borislav, would you be willing to do a lease unit for me if I provide you some details?

Could you possibly do a CN ACe as well?

Is the brown a little too dark or is it just the lighting?

I am experiencing a lot of problems with the brown colour in this repaint. Since I have not been able to find an RGB or HEX code for this colour, I had to use photos and, as you can see, lighting determines the shade of brown on each photo differently.

Did a look around on the web. P&W colors are UPS Brown and NASA Orange. Couldn't find the exact RGB codes though.

Thank you very much for your assistance. While the NASA Orange looks spot on, the UPS Brown is rather light. I'll mess with it a bit more and see where it will take me.

                      Chilla,

I may look into that as well. I have to say that Michael Schmiga's template for this locomotive is nothing short of amazing. It makes the repaint process much more enjoyable. I sincerely hope that Mr. Schmiga is going to make the same kind of template for the TS's new GEVO models.

Jasonjedi, are those available for download anywhere? Very nicely done and would go well with Michael Demuth's G&W Es44s from the MIRC.
