    Amtrak F40PH

    Since my last GO F40 project, I'm currently working on updated high-resolution textures for NALW's Amtrak F40- here are some progress screens of the 268, as it appeared around 2001 with guck on the nose (minus the A/C unit and ditchlights). Still in progress...

      Agreed! Thats what always set me off about NALW's F40 Textures.. It's like a whole new model!

        Yeah? Lets remember what time period in which those F40 skins were done. That was quite some time ago.

        Nice job on the new skins!

            Thanks guys- the NALW F40 came out years ago- and Buzz and the team did an excellent job at the time with the 512x512 textures. They were by far my favorite locomotives to run in MSTS for a long time. I used to ride the Maple Leaf from Toronto to Rochester when I was in college, when F40s were still regulars. I wanted to model the ones I used to see and ride behind, hence the updated textures....

                Mar 2002 is when we released those. Think my video card had an impressive 32mb RAM on it, and i think only a very small number of video cards could even DO 1024 textures


                And oh yeah, very nice looking repaints there Christer!!

                  Exactly. At that time, those skins were quite impressive. The model still is. It's the only F40 I use.

                    Buzz's work is incredible. Always has, and still is. These reskins are a testiment to that.

                    Nice to see some high-res skins for the original model.
