My New Repaint: Amtrak F40PH Locomotives

    HI Everyone!

Today, I Reskinned a Bunch Of SLI (Streamlines)/TrainSimulations Amtrak F40PH Locomotives That Were Based On Amtrak Trainsets Volume 1.

I kitbashed so many locomotives into Ditch Lights by Brian Zimmerman, And I Added The Front View Paint With Ditch Lights From Amtrak NPCU #90368 Made By Oliver Mahlich.

Also, I Made a 3 Pack Of Locomotives, Including The Consists, Here Are The F40PH Locomotives That I have.

    F40PH Locomotives #310, #354

    F40PH #281

    F40PH #315

    F40PH #270

    And F40PH #273

I Hope You Enjoy My First Ever Reskin/Repaint!

I haven't downloaded yet, but looking at your screenshots, it appears you lost your alpha channel on the windshield wipers

Update: I Finally Figured Out To Way To Found The Alpha Channel Was The Missing Windshield Wipers for these engines.

        And here is the Result

If you will.... just update the same item in the library -- you'll need to give it a new file name but the catalog listing doesn't need to change.
If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Thanks!

I see the new F-40 units loaded into the Library.........appreciation goes to CR336 for his time to create them for us. However, his effort is wasted, as maybe others of us will also agree.

The models need an STREAMLINES shape file which is no longer available. How are we supposed to get these locos to work when the file(s) that have them were pulled off the market, easily 5 years ago. STREAMLINES is one of THE MOST aggravating websites to deal with........they put up locos but more so train sets that get pulled down sometimes after 6 months or a year never to be seen again

All of the few passenger sets they sell now are the P-42 diesels, NONE OF THEM have any F-40 engines.......Why bother making these new texture files when they can't be used. Not all of us have endless files of everything that has been sold and with this "Intellectual Properties" garbage, forget about getting the shape file from somebody else.

Maybe Train Sim managers should MAKE IT A REQUIREMENT if you post a car or loco file that requires a commercial S file THAT IS NO LONGER OBTAINABLE, IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THE REPAINT so the file is not useless.I can see sets that can be purchased as not being part of this, just the ones off the market we can never get

Have to Thank Danny Beck for his distributing shape files for many Santa Fe engines, at least it helps quite a bit getting some of the repaints up and going.

For the "Rest of Us......before the Next Festavus"......WE'RE SCREWED

F40 shapes are available in the Amtrak Trainsets Vol 1 pack and in the MSTS-grade Green River route.

Newbies or recent arrivals, I can understand the frustration with this kind of difficulty in locating replacement assets. It is why it is best to always base repaints off the latest available model. But for anyone around as long as Doug has been, a more fitting rebuttal is "you snooze, you lose". You, too, were presented with ample opportunity to buy it.... back then.

                              Hi geepster775,
Sorry, but that seems a little harsh!
Many users couldn't afford to buy everything they might have wanted and when they could, it was no longer available!

However, the reskin instructions specify "Amtrak Trainsets Volume 1" as being required; this pack IS still available for $9.99 which doesn't seem too bad!

Maybe Doug didn't spot that, or didn't go to the TSN site to check it out?

                              Cheers,
                              Ged
