    Simple Trees

Something I never tried before is making trees. I know, simple, right? Well, I encountered some nice Alpha mapped tree shapes and thought why not? So, no, I didn't do the tedious bit map work, these are "found" items but I thought I'd see how they look.

Some slight anomalies to be fixed... but the alpha's look usable... I'm using (3) 120 degree aligned planes instead of 90 degree perpendicular planes. I may keep messing with this for some new options.

    Pete,

They are looking really good to me.

    Keep up the good work.

      Hi Pete,

Looking good - I've made my own vegetation for many years - a few tips - I normally create the Alpha from an isolated image - there are tons out there - then expand it for a pixel or two. In order to avoid a halo - make the background a close match for the vegetation green. If you're making vegetation for ROW - make sure it's saved as DXT1 to avoid the synchronous ROW flashing. Keep the saturation low.

      Regards,
      Scott

Those look really nice. Always room for improved trees in open rails.
