Adding a stream, but not hearing the waves?

    Hi all,
I decided to copy the radio chatter .wav files and stream section from my DW UP SD60M to Matt's SLI UP ACE and Gevo sound folders, but can't hear the chatter.
I up'd the streams total by one, and have no bracket issues, as I simply inserted the whole stream section right between two existing streams. I am adding the text in the hopes someone could lend a hand at solving this. I have no errors of any kind with the cab sms file, they just don't ever play.

Odd thing in this example (Matt's Gevo file) is, prior to me adding the stream, the steam count was 15, but I only counted up 13 streams? I still up'd it to 16, but am confused on this as well.

Ideas and suggestions welcomed Thanks you!

It seems to me that you miss an end bracket in the "dynamic" stream section.

Please check also that you ve really the
    rad1.wav ... rad13.wav & det1.wav in your sound folder. ( search... )
If not copy those wav-files to the main sound folder "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\SOUND"

And you're right there are only 14 streams now; so set the parameter to 14.

      Hi dirkjesje

I appreciate you taking a look. I though for sure I just inserted this section right after the dynamic stream, but will double check for the mising end bracket.
I do have the sounds copied, but not in the root sound folder, but the sound folder of my engine. Why would I put them in the MSTS root sound folder?
I take it it does no harm to have the streams number "higher" than the actual amount of streams, because I see a few of the sms files I use are that way by default. But I bet a problem would arise if it were the opposite - the stream count "lower" than the actual amount of streams? Anyway, I will adjust the number accordingly.
I'll let you know how I get on with it, as it wil be this afternoon before I can get to it.

      Thanks again.

Neil, download and use "Context",available on the Steam4Me site.It is invaluable when playing with sound (and lighting) files because you can easily see where you may be going wrong.

          Thanks Peter,
I actually have it, and will use it to trouble shoot this issue with a possible bracket missing. I didn't use it because I did not get any errors or failures when firing up the sim and trying to use the engine, it just didn't play the sounds, so I didn't think my edit caused it. Will re-check this afternoon.
