Problem with some sound

[Komachi]

Hey I got a bit of a problem. I just bought at the flea market a copy of the Casino Express Maglev Pack, but.. There's nothin but the wind sound on the interior yet all the files are there for interior sound, and here's a copy of the .sms file

Perhaps volume settings for the lift/land sounds

Volume ( 0.1 ) in the 5 group
and
Volume ( 0.5 ) in the 3 group.

In the cab file, the volume is set low as well and the lift land is only for group 5. If you don't have the MSTS soud settings at maximum there won't be a cab lift/land sound played.

Outside sounds have both group 5 AND group 3 defined. Inside sounds ONLY have group 5 defined. If you don't have the MSTS sound settings at maximum there won't be a cab lift/land sound for INSIDE sounds.

I've got the sound settings bar at Max. I never have in my life taken it off max.

First thing I would do is play each .wav file in the MS Recorder to see if you can actually hear it. If you can't hear it, you can increase the volume using the edit button. Each use will increase volume by 25%. Be careful you don't get to the point of distortion.

You can also increase the volume of individual .wavs by inserting a Volume line between the Priority & Trigger lines. Set the volume at 1.0, anything higher and the sim will default to 1.0 . If a Volume line is present, raise the value to 1.0

Sound Test

Do you know how to use the sound test? It might be useful to make sure that they are all playing when they should. The most common problem that cuts off sounds beyond those listed at a particular point in an sms file is a misplaced bracket. The sound test facility is a good means for establishing whether or not all the streams are playing.
