    710eco

Is there any chance that someone is planning to make a sound set of the EMD 710ECO engine?
Apperently they call certain locomotives GP22's..
Brand new, Green Powered, Electro-Motive EMDX GP22 7102, is seen in Ottawa Central's Walkley Yard after being used on a test train of tank cars with Ottawa C...

KCS has a SD40-2 that has been repowered to the 710ECO.
Now they have a GP22ECO which is an ex CN GP40-2W that has been upgraded to the 710ECO engine.

I have plans on painting this unit.

The EMD GP22 and SD22 models are the newest in rebuild material. They come with, I believe, a non-turbod 8 cylinder 710 prime mover. Kinda cool! KCS is taking big part in this, which is pretty nice.

Hmm, thank you fo the Info John. Hopefully someone, you or Matt can get their hands dirty on a set of non-turbo 710ECO set.

KCS actually, I have decided to like over the other class ones, simply because they aren't paid much attention to like UP or BNSF is in this hobby.

Incorrect. The 710 ECO is for a fact Turbocharged. I have recordings I got from a GP22ECO. Just an idle one though. I can always fiddle with my SMS's and such to replicate them and release as a MLW 710 bonus set.

From what I have gathered and read, they are in fact non turbo 8 cylinder engines.

From what I've seen inside the engine room they are infact, Turbo charged. Unless the roots blower is as big as the turbo.

Well, look at Mr. Sparkles over here doing his research! Good work Captain.

Well, either way, none of these units are quite at my disposal, so for me to do a set for these would be impossible at this time.

No need to be a smarta$$ Mr. Means. I prove points by backing it up with evidence. Otherwise I may as well be full of hot air.

Sorry bud, but ya just sound so unhappy! Come on now, loosen up!

No need for the "No, you're wrong, i'm right, and that's that." I'm glad you can back it up. Good for you! Just do it nicely. That's all i'm sayin'!

Not to mention making a sound set with just the idle sound file isn't going to turn out that well. There used to be an old 567 sound set floating around set up just like that, and it was wretched to say the least... Maybe we all should just wait awhile to get some sound sets. By the sounds of it these locomotives are starting to sell, maybe someone can get more throttle notches for us to work with (preferably idle, notch-4 and notch-8)

No no, I mean I'd use the same run 4 and maybe a different run 8 for the ECO set.

From what though? Just by listening to the idle sound from the 8-710G3B-ECO, higher notches will sound very different as well.

That is true. I'll have to ask someone on my team if they can catch one for me.
