Mr. Furto, you have done it again. These GE FDL-12/-16 prime mover sounds are spot on! Anyone that likes U-boats should check out Ron's new sound sets in the file library!

I must second that, they seem really good to someone who has heard a GE only on U Tube videos. Can someone say which models they apply to as I cannot identify via the instructions in the files.Difficult to hear the real thing from this side of the pond!

I dig em, wish I had a source recording from Mr. Furto so I could update them as 441kHz, it'd really emphasize the bass, the barkiness of the non silenced exhaust, and possibly bring out some turbo whistle.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I am happy you are enjoying the sounds. The source files for these are about 25 years old so I did push them to the limit to get the most out of them. I did try 44100KHz and did'nt notice any improvement over the 22050KHz probably because the recordinge are so old. Plus 22050KHz is a much smaller file size than 44100KHz.

They sound great, Ron! If they sound that good at 25 years old, it makes me want to go record some Boats down at the MNNR shops with a HD sound recorder.

Thanks Anthony. I spent lots of time along side the older GE units many years ago but I never heard any type of turbo sound like I now hear on modern GE's such as the Dash9 and AC4400 units. Not sure why maybe a change in the turbo itself. Of course those units did not have exhaust sliencers so the engine prime mover sound may have just drowned it out.

Ragtimer I sent you a PM.

Ron, I'd like to echo everyone else's sentiments. I never know when I'm going to check the file library and find something fresh out of your sound booth. Very good work.
