I just wanted to say that Steven West (Noisemaker) and I have been working on a generic 3-axle soundset for the past few days. I recorded the sounds (specifically from DM&IR coach 33 on the North Shore Scenic Railroad) and he put together the SMS files. The soundset should be in the Elvas Tower file library by tomorrow. I don't know when they'll be on TrainSim, though.

Hold on there Dustin. Not all the kinks and bugs have been quite worked out yet. I think I did okay with the SMS, but there's a guru or two I still want to run it by.
But to help whet everyone's whistle in the meantime, here's where we're currently at with it all...

Wow! I feel like Sally Fields here - 'You all like it. You really really like it!'
As for applying these to engines, I wouldn't advise it. These were kept very 'loose' to hopefully work well with certain engine, rolling stock and/or trackbed sounds on any route. What I did do on them is allow them to be heard in the Cab. So depending on your motive power and consist length, you maybe able to hear them clanking behind you as you drive.
I should also thank Luke as well, as his MILW sounds definitely inspired and help teach me how to wrangle these latest sounds.
And my apologies for the different ethnicity in the cars. I was kinda torn on a 'Canadian slant' for my constant testing on the CN heavyweights. And/or the variety of waitresses and waiters was few and far between. (which I found surprising in this day of age.) She's actually 'Russian' (sounds like a French Canadian accent as well a bit) and the waiter is of course British. The muzak is kinda tongue in cheek too. I like Hagood Hardy to begin with (that's right - and Gordon Lightfoot, and Joni Mitchell, and Burton Cummings too! Said Johnny Rotten to the press... ) And the songs are 'Travelling On' and 'The Homecoming' - apt titles for train journeys.
And, was a little leery of copyright and all that. So as it stands, Hagood is the only person ever charged in Canada with 'plagiarism' - so who better to steal from? LOL But as it states in the Read Me, feel free to make your own medley and pop that in if those songs drive you nuts. You're fine for personal use, be it Glen Miller or The Sex Pistols (did someone say Jubilee Train? )
Thanks again to all, and enjoy!
