Hello, I've found that no sound GEVO sound sets have the nice low chug in the lower notches when the engine has a load. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the sound sets out now either recorded at speed or as a rev up while stationary? I think I have found a great source file of the GEVO chug if someone can pull it (if it is even possible I don't know):
Great video find! And certainly 'do-able' in terms of ripping and polishing up the audio at the intro. But then after 45 or so seconds either trackbed and/or wind starts getting in on the sound. So without the full runs to be captured, I think just the intro would sound odd trying to be squished in with existing Gevo sound sets? Then again, I'm not very good with SMS still, so for someone like Anthony Wood or Matt Florack et al - could be possible?
I could record Gevo sounds from start to run 8 no problem I just don't have a good recorder (flip cam). It was just a thought no sound sets with the heavy chugging down low. If you think a flip cam video is good enough let me know I can get some recordings asap I live 4 minutes from the tracks. Here is one of my old videos... is the quality good enough?
Sorry for the lack of videos recently, I haven't had time to film any but it is getting warmer so I should be able to get more video.CSX W098, 1-2-11 3:15pmP...
That's not bad at all. The main thing to try and avoid is wind hitting the mic. And I guess that's your scanner in the background? And any other external noises such as crossing bells, cars, nature, etc. But looks like you got a prime spot for audio already.
OK nice I might go to a yard tomorrow and try to find some nice audio. I notice there is no good SD50 / SD40E sound set and there is almost always one switching there I'll see what I can get over the next week. I'm on CSX's A line so it shouldn't take long.
