My advice, find an SMS file that has all kinds of different features in it that you would hear in metra cab cars and hen replace the sounds with ones from metra trains. I'm working on recording metra sounds but I'm using the 3dtrains pacific surfliner cab car SMS as a base and then I will just tweak it to be authentic metra.

You could use just about any air dump sound in place of that sound since that's what it is. That sound goes in place of the sound file the bell makes when you hit the button. It could also be recorded into the actual bell sound itself. There is a way I'm not sure how to do it myself, that you can have a sound at the end of the horn or bell loop that only plays after you release the spacebar/B key. Tell you what I will do for you though. Let me talk to a friend of mine who is kinda an expert at making sounds for locomotives and I will get back to you. Just thought of something. The NALW P42 series actually has this feature in it if you want to take a look at the cab . SMS file
