Reskinned SLI ES44 NS Heritage loco's sound problem

I see that there were over 500 D/L for the nsheritage1-1.zip repaints, but searching forums, no one else appears to have indicated a sound problem with the readme referenced MLW sounds. I sense potential problems anytime I see the readme states "simple" and there is not a whole lot of explanation what to do. I copied the CABVIEW and SOUND folders from the SLI originals (I assume this is what the readme meant). I admit to usually just deleting the whole locomotive if the aliasing doesn't work right after the first try or two and I get frustrated (I don't understand all the "..\\..\\") but I'd like to use these loco's. I already had the mlwgevo-12.zip installed and appears to work for some other loco's I've installed, but before running the loco I ran a Conbuilder test indicating several errors for missing files which don't exist, but in some other file folders. They all follow the same error description, but reference different sound files missing following the pattern below:

[SOUND FILE MISSING or DOES NOT EXIST]
The sound file x_d9_sand.wav specified by the file ..\\..\\COMMON.SND\\MLW_GEVO-12\\ES44AC_eng.sms does not exist in the folder
    C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT GAMES\TRAIN SIMULATOR\TRAINS\TRAINSET\NS_ES44AC_8098\SOUND
If this file is aliased it should exist in ..\\..\\COMMON.SND\\MLW_GEVO-12\\ .
The error was found on this line:
    Discrete_Trigger ( 4 StartLoopRelease ( 1 File ( "x_d9_sand.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection ) ) )

The error appears to look for the default Dash9 sounds that are in neither the MLW folders nor the SLI folders, OR was one supposed to copy the default Dash9 sound folder. ??? Any help leading me in the right direction would be appreciated.

All that means is that the wav file called for by the sms file does not exist in the folder where the sms file is expecting it.There are two ways of fixing it,either delete the stream concerned from the sms file or copy the required wav file from the Dash 9 sound folder. There is no mystery to "aliasing";all it does is point the computer to where it should find the required files.Computers are totally logical beasts and always do exactly what you tell it.

      Aliasing is REALLY simple.

The ..\\..\\ stuff is a way for MSTS or Open rails to use a truncated directory name. ..\\..\\ stands for Trains\Trainset directory structure within the MSTS directory. You can point to any folder within the trainset folder using this method.

I have this sound set and .sms file. I opened and check the file and the GEVO-12 sound directory. The file is indeed from the default dash 9. copy it or any others that are missing to the GEVO-12 directory and the error will go away.

Copied over the several files from the default Dash 9 and the units work from a sound standpoint now, thanks all. It now appears the cabview engineer and conductor views show an obstruction toward the center of the locomotive with a coordinate issue with at least the Southern unit. Oh well, back to editor.

        Thanks,
