    MC_AC44V3_sound set help

    Hi all,
I'm trying to get this sound set from MCLW.Proboards.com into a loco and the installation readme is to vague for me to understand, being a novice with sound files. Is there anybody out there who's installed this file. I've tried to contact
    mcflorack-at-yahoo.com (at=@)about it, but there's no reply.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gerry.

Just plop the MC.SND folder into your Trainset folder and alias the sound files in the ENG file which you would like to have those sounds. Would you mind if I elaborate on this?

Go ahead Mipman25. The problem is the creator assumes we are all familiar with the procedure and in this case I think key words are omitted.

        Its quite simple,
        1. open the engine file of the engine you want to install the sounds to.

        2. find the sound line and delete it.

        3. copy the sound line you want to use in the readme file in the MCsound folder and paste it into the engine file where you deleted the original.

        4. there will be two sound lines in each eng file, one for the eng and one for the cab

              Hello Hiball 3985,
Made the changes to the engine file but didn't allow me to save changes. "access denied" . Any ideas?

What did you use to open the .eng files?, I use Wordpad. I run XP so possibly you have a different OS?

I used Notepad as was suggested in the readme.

When I use wordpad I just close the file after the change and it asks if you want to save changes, then click yes. You may want to try Wordpad

Does your alias look like this? Remember, double backslashes can be used as slashes.

                          ...\\..\\MC.SND\\MC_AC44V3\\D944CW_XXXXeng.sms

If you want a better soundset, Anthony Wood's MLW FDL16 soundset surpasses this one, complete with 44100 Hz sounds.
